With a circa winning score of twenty under, Bermuda green specialists could have a field day this week although last year’s winner Sergio Garcia is not the best putter. Despite the track being tree-lined fairways the rough is not known for being too penal allowing long hitters to prosper.

Stephen Jaeger to Keep That Eerie Correlation With the Children's Hospital Championship Going

Two weeks ago, on his season debut at the Fortinet Championship Stephen Jaeger was a little disappointing with a facile missed cut.

I say disappointing because, he’s been ready for the PGA Tour a few months now after killing the Korn Ferry Tour with an amazing eight top 5 finishes, three of which came before the Fortinet Championship.

I think we will have to forgive him that effort at Silverado given he showed a liking for this week’s trackback in 2018 with an eye-catching 14th.

There is also an eerie correlation with results at an event on the Korn Ferry Tour where previous Sanderson Farms winners Peter Malnati and Ryan Armour both came runner up at the Children's Hospital Championship which funnily enough Jaeger did earlier in the year.

Undoubtedly, this year has been a breakthrough one on the Korn Ferry Tour for the thirty-two-year-old from Munich in Germany and it’s not over yet with this week the perfect opportunity to make the jump into the big league. I like him as a longshot win at .

2015 Champion, Peter Malnati Loves the Country Club of Jackson

We touched upon Peter Malnati above as a previous winner who has a strong correlation with Stephen Jaeger’s chances.

There can be little doubt that Peter Malnati's favourite event on the PGA Tour is the Sanderson Farms Championship given he was a brave runner up to Sergio Garcia last year and the event launched his career when he won the title in 2015 as a longshot priced +50000.

After a bright start to 2021 in January, Malnati has struggled badly and his 22nd at the Fortinet Championship was his highest finish since the Farmers Insurance Open on the last day of January.

That improvement at the Fortinet Championship can hardly be timed better for the thirty-four-year-old from Indiana where his short game looked in fine fettle. Unlike Sergio Garcia, Malnati is a strong putter who we know plays these Bermuda Ultra-dwarf greens better than most.

He is undoubtedly a course specialist so we can expect his biorhythms to be back in perfect harmony after an improved Fortinet Championship giving him the best opportunity of another strong week at his favourite event.
