The most interesting thing in these early U.S. Open odds is some of the outlier prices available on major contenders on the women's side.

US Open odds 2024: Favorite

If the 2023 tennis season taught us anything more about the 36-year-old Serbian, it's that it is wise to rush out to bet plus-money odds on him in the futures market. Much of the plus-money value disappeared in the weeks leading up to each of 2023's four grand slams, and it's nearly impossible to grab a price better than this once the tournament begins.
Due to public liability, Djokovic is likely to be the favorite in any final matchup.

Alcaraz won this tournament in 2022, but he is likely to enter 2024 behind Djokovic in the ATP rankings, and he likely won't become the tournament favorite unless he's able to reclaim that pole position.

Ben Shelton (+5000 via DraftKings)
Shelton entered the 2023 US Open unranked, but the 20-year-old American soared to No. 19 in the ATP ranks with a semifinal berth. He fell to Djokovic in that matchup, but that experience will serve him well considering his best years are likely still well ahead of him.
