US Open Women's Final Predictions: Rybakina vs Sabalenka Expert Picks, Best Bets

It’s the current No. 1 for now, Aryna Sabalenka, facing the soon-to-be world No. 1 next week, Elena Rybakina, for the US Open title on Saturday, and my US Open Women’s Final prediction expects this match between two heavyweights to go the distance.

We nailed each of our women’s semifinal picks, including a plus-money cash on Rybakina as an underdog, and have been profitable every day since our picks started on Monday with the Round of 16. Now we’re looking to end a successful tournament with another plus-money wager and big payout.

🎯 Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina both to win a set (+122) 

Familiarity between opponents, combined with fairly equal success on both sides, suggests that the winner of this match between two aggressive baseline players will not prevail in straight sets.

 Sabalenka looks for her third straight US Open title, continuing a dominant run of reaching the semifinals or better at Flushing Meadows every year from 2021-23. She is now the first player in the Open Era (male or female) to reach eight consecutive Grand Slam finals on hard courts. 

But her opponent, Rybakina, was also her opponent in the last hard court Grand Slam final at the Australian Open, marking just the second time since that Major switched to hard court in 1988 that the same pair of women will meet in a final at the Australian Open and US Open in the same season.

This is the fourth final between these two this season alone, and Sabalenka leads the overall head-to-head 10-7. So while a player who is going for a third straight title at the same event would usually be a much bigger favorite than the -145 odds at DraftKings (carrying a 59.18% implied probability), Rybakina is being given a lot of respect.

Sabalenka has won at least one set in a whopping 127 of her last 128 Grand Slam main draw matches. But I’m taking a straight-set win by the No. 1 seed off the table, as each of Rybakina’s last three Grand Slam finals have gone to three sets. Rybakina deserves the respect of at least being forecasted to take one set, after winning 48 matches this year (nine against top-10 players).
