After offseason player movement resulted in a pair of superteams being formed, oddsmakers have declared the Liberty and Aces as runaway favorites to win the 2023 WNBA Finals.

The 2023 WNBA season is quickly approaching. We're one month away from the WNBA Draft and just two months out from the start of regular-season games. Like any other sport, it’s never too early to dive into the futures betting odds to win the 2023 WNBA Championship.

Last year, the Las Vegas Aces were able to capture the first championship in franchise history after being the dominant team in the league throughout the season. The Aces made a major splash in free agency when they signed Candace Parker, and look to be in a prime position to repeat.

The other team that capitalized during WNBA free agency this offseason was the New York Liberty. Breanna Stewart and Jonquel Jones were the two main additions for the Liberty.

As a result, New York and Las Vegas are runaway betting favorites to win the WNBA Finals. However, there are a few other teams that could prove to be capable of challenging for supremacy in 2023.

Here is our look at the best odds for the 2023 WNBA Championship, along with a look at some potential picks.

WNBA Finals odds 2023: Favorites

Las Vegas Aces (+125 via Caesars)

As far as consensus odds are concerned, the Aces are favored to repeat last year’s WNBA Championship. It’s certainly hard to dismiss Las Vegas in 2023, given that a star like Candace Parker will be joining a lineup that already includes A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, and Chelsea Gray. However, Caesars Sportsbook actually has the Liberty set at slightly shorter odds than the defending champs. As such, it is one of the best places to bet on the Aces to repeat.

New York Liberty (+150 via PointsBet)

After making the playoffs and even scoring an upset win in the opening round, the Liberty went on to have an active offseason. Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and Courtney Vandersloot have all joined Sabrina Ionescu in New York for the 2023 season. They are now viewed as co-favorites alongside the Aces. Compared to other sportsbooks in the market, PointsBet’s futures price of +150 offers a fair bit of value.

WNBA Finals odds 2023: Contenders

Washington Mystics (+1200 via PointsBet)

Priced at 12/1 across the board, the Mystics are viewed as being a step behind Las Vegas and New York when it comes to the futures odds to win the WNBA Championship. However, last year’s core group remains intact. With Elena Delle Donne leading the way, it’s impossible to count the Mystics out. The backcourt will again be anchored by Ariel Atkins and Natasha Cloud, while Shakira Austin figures to take another step forward at center.

WNBA Finals odds 2023: Long shots

Phoenix Mercury (+2500 via SuperBook)

With Brittney Griner being detained in Russia, last season was practically over before it even started for the Mercury. Griner returns in 2023 to anchor what was an atrocious Phoenix defense a year ago. If Diana Taurasi, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and Sophie Cunningham can stay healthy, the Mercury should prove to be potent offensively. With plenty of experience on the roster, it’s tough to keep the Merc off of the short list of teams capable of winning it all.

Los Angeles Sparks (+5000 via PointsBet)

The 50/1 price found on the Sparks to win the WNBA Finals at PointsBet is better than what other sportsbooks are offering. To be clear, L.A. will be facing an uphill battle in its quest to compete against superteams like the Aces and Liberty. But the frontcourt, which is led by former MVP Nneka Ogwumike, looks to be one of the best in the league. If other players can step up offensively, the Sparks could prove to be a viable longshot sleeper.
