🎾 French Open Prediction 2026: Flavio Cobolli vs. Alexander Zverev Final Best Bets
Last Updated: June 6, 2026 11:10 AM EDT • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
No. 10 seed Flavio Cobolli will have fresh legs for this French Open final after winning via walkover in the semis. Will that rest advantage be enough to upset No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev, who looks perfectly poised to capture his long awaited first Grand Slam title in his fourth major final appearance?
My Cobolli vs. Zverev prediction believes it's the German's time to finally break through for his first major title, after knocking on the door on three other occasions in finals. Zverev is as high as a -400 betting favorite (80% implied odds), as he has a big experience edge over Cobolli, who is playing in his first Grand Slam final.
Along with my Zverev outright prediction, I make the case for him to go Over his projected total of games won.

| 💰 Pick | ⚖️ Bet size (units) | 🧠 Why I bet this |
|---|---|---|
| Alexander Zverev Moneyline (-375 via BetMGM) | 5u → 1.35u | Cobolli doesn't have the tools to outlast Zverev over five sets |
| Zverev to win Over 20.5 games (-110 via DraftKings) | 1u → 0.91u | Cobolli's rest advantage should force this match longer than three sets |

🆚 Flavio Cobolli vs. Alexander Zverev pick to win
Here's my pick to win the French Open men's final, and why I'm choosing Zverev:
Alexander Zverev ML (-237)
With Zverev's semifinal win over Jakub Mensik, he improved to 30-1 in his last 31 matches as a favorite at the French Open. Zverev has won 24 tour-level tournaments, but a Major title has eluded him. With a win on Sunday morning, he would tie Novak Djokovic for the second-most wins in Men's Singles matches at Grand Slam events this decade.
While clay may be Cobolli's best surface, Zverev has shown consistency at Roland Garros for a much longer period of time. He became the first player born since 1990 to reach five Men's Singles semifinals at a single Grand Slam event, doing so at the French Open all since 2021.
Cobolli is the first player to claim each of his first four ATP top 10 wins on clay since Dominic Thiem in 2016. In addition, he owns a straight-set victory over Zverev on clay in Munich his year, and the German's last six losses have come against Italian players. But a five-set match on this stage is a much different animal, and Zverev will not relinquish a chance to capture his first Grand Slam, especially since he did not have to go through Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, or Novak Djokovic to earn it.
🔥 Best Flavio Cobolli vs. Alexander Zverev prop pick
Zverev to win Over 20.5 games (-110)
Unless Zverev wins in straight sets and all in tiebreaks, it will require the match going at least four sets for him to go Over this projected total. Therefore, I would not put anyone off looking more at the set betting props and backing Zverev to win 3 sets to 1 through the best price of +270 odds at BetMGM. But I prefer this game market wager just in case Cobolli uses his rest advantage enough to drag the match out to five sets.
The veteran Zverev has used his craftiness to exert his dominance over less-experienced players, as he has covered the game spread in each of his last eight Grand Slam matches against younger opponents. Look for a lopsided Zverev set at some point, which will help keep his energy up later in the match. We may even get a bonus game in a set from him winning via tiebreak, as he is 2-0 in tiebreaks in this run and 3-1 in sets that went at least 12 games.
