The intrigue in the F1 season increases with every passing race as I provide my Austrian Grand Prix predictions for Sunday's race at Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria (9 a.m. ET, ESPN).
Kimi Antonelli is the +175 betting favorite, with teammate George Russell and Ferrari's Lewis Hamilton trading just behind. I'm backing the in-form Hamilton to make waves again this weekend and secure his third straight podium finish. Will he have enough to beat the formidable Mercedes pair?

🏆 Pick to win Austrian Grand Prix: Lewis Hamilton
For the first time since joining Ferrari at the start of the 2025 season, Hamilton was crowned the winner of a GP. He won in Barcelona, and I'm confident he'll keep that momentum going in Austria.
Along with Hamilton showing greater control and mastery of the car, Ferrari enters the Austrian GP having implemented two additional upgrades, one to the power unit and the other an advanced sustainable fuel. The power unit upgrade, while not substantial, could provide a horsepower boost.
Those updates, combined with Hamilton's best form in years, should facilitate a second straight win for the Brit.
🥉 Hamilton, George Russell, Kimi Antonelli to finish in top 3
In Barcelona, Russell secured second place, his best result since finishing fourth in Miami. He will be raring to go, and I expect him to go on a run after a disappointing stretch caused by bad luck and inconsistency.
Antonelli was in position to take second place in Barcelona before disaster struck. With four laps remaining, the championship favorite was forced to retire because of a power failure in a car that, while inarguably the best on the grid, has shown a propensity to cut out unexpectedly.
If the car holds firm, Antonelli should be back in the running.
💡 Austrian Grand Prix favorites
Providing the Austrian Grand Prix odds and favorites, I offer analysis on which drivers have the best chance of winning on Sunday.
🏎️ Hamilton to finish in top 3
Unless something happens with his SF-26, I'm wholeheartedly behind Hamilton to have another strong showing. He's been brilliant over the last three races, finishing second, second, and first, respectively.
And now that the car is performing at a similar level to main competitors Mercedes, I'm even more confident that the Brit's surge will continue. Even if the recent updates don't improve the car's output, which they should, Hamilton has his swagger back, making him a force to be reckoned with.
💡 How I'm betting the Austrian Grand Prix
I'm backing Hamilton in all three bets, which is risky and unconventional. While I don't usually make such concentrated predictions, I've been extremely impressed by Hamilton in the last three races.
Ferrari's upgrades to its SF-26 have further increased my confidence in the seven-time champion. While I'm backing him to win, I've fallen back on two top-3 picks, just in case he doesn't get the better of Antonelli or George Russell, a distinct possibility.
The SF-26 is one of the most reliable cars on the grid. However, Charles Leclerc's race fell apart in Monaco due to a brake issue. So, the car is not infallible, which is slightly concerning. If the car does its job, Hamilton will do his.
