One of the biggest events in WWE takes place on Saturday at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, FL, as we look at the 2024 Royal Rumble odds and how to bet on the event.

Royal Rumble kicks off the “Road to WrestleMania” on Saturday with a 30-person, free-for-all rumble at the center of it all.

The men’s and women’s divisions compete to be the last wrestlers in the ring. If they are, they will get a shot at WrestleMania 40 to take home a WWE championship title, as we broke down further in our WWE Royal Rumble predictions.

An increasing number of superstars are confirming their participation in the Rumble. Throughout this week, both Raw and Smackdown! will showcase numerous matches that will advance various storylines in anticipation of this weekend's climax. However, most of these matches are expected to pose more questions than provide answers, aligning with the WWE's intentional approach to keep fans intrigued.

Read on for our look at the Royal Rumble odds for the WWE event on Jan. 27.

Favorites for the 2024 Royal Rumble

CM Punk (+100)

CM Punk returned to the WWE roster and immediately added several twists on the road to WrestleMania. The former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion left the company after the 2014 Royal Rumble and has not competed in a WWE event since. Saturday night will be the first match for “The Best in the World” since that night.

Punk exchanged several words with Cody Rhodes this past Monday Night Raw. During the standoff, Punk complimented the "American Nightmare" and his legendary father, Dusty Rhodes. However, he reiterated his quest to main event Wrestlemania and winning the Royal Rumble in the process.

His ultimate target may have taken a sharp left with the recent knee injury to current World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins. Punk had already stated if he won the Rumble, he would take on Rollins at WrestleMania. With the champ on the mend for at least four months, he may not get that chance. This could call for a quick change of direction in the title quest. That could leave Punk waiting for his chance in place of someone else.

Bayley (-110)

The leader of Damage CTRL has continued on her path to dominate the WWE Women’s Division in earnest over the last few weeks. She has been at ringside for her allies during their matches. The SmackDown superstar has also made appearances on Raw to signal her intentions of being a presence on both brands.

Earlier this week on Monday Night Raw, "The Role Model" crashed a spot between Becky Lynch and Nia Jax, immediately informing them that, “both of you idiots are going to lose.” After a few quick taunts, Bayley boldly stated that she would win the Royal Rumble. After which, she dropped her microphone and went after Lynch.

Despite her listing as the clear favorite, it might be too tough to keep Bayley bouncing between brands, and it could be the reason she doesn’t win on Saturday night. However, her allies could carry her a long way through the match, so it’s also hard to count her out.

Royal Rumble odds 2024: Contenders

Cody Rhodes (+400)

It seemed for some time that "The American Nightmare" was on the path to finish his story and headline WrestleMania by way of winning the Royal Rumble. Now, several obstacles stand in his way, not the least of which is the return of CM Punk.

However, his story is years in the making and was propelled even further after winning the 2023 Royal Rumble. After failing to beat Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39, Rhodes all but cemented another shot this year. He has spent every moment since building toward that goal.

Only two superstars have won back-to-back Royal Rumbles. The last of which, Stone Cold Steve Austin, won both the 1997 and the 1998 events. Rhode has seen his odds jump all over going from +500 two weeks ago to +250 earlier this week only to jump back up to +400 hours away from the match.

Becky Lynch (+400)

"The Man" has spent the last few weeks making sure everyone knows she will be the last woman in the ring this Saturday night. She has spent time in the ring with the likes of Nia Jax, Bayley, and even Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley making the case for her future victory.

In a recent face-to-face on Raw, Lynch proclaimed she needed to prove to herself and everyone else that Jax was the inferior wrestler. In a previous ring encounter, Jax left Lynch a bloody mess.

Lynch won the 2019 Royal Rumble by tossing Charlotte Flair out of the ring. She would go on to beat both Ronda Rousey and Flair at WrestleMania 35 to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Championships.

Royal Rumble odds 2024: Long shots

Drew McIntyre (+2000)

The Scottish Warrior has been fighting for his shot at another WWE championship title and validation since his 2020 reign. Between then and now, he has locked horns with everyone from Roman Reigns to Seth Rollins. All the while, he has both issued and taken all forms of punishment.

McIntyre began 2024 with a title match against Rollins on Day 1 of Raw. Despite outside interference from Damian Priest, Rollins beat McIntyre to retain his title.

Two weeks ago, McIntrye did not even crack the top 10 oddswise. Only a few days ago he lept into the top four at +1400. Now, he sits at +2000 and dropped below Randy Orton and even Brock Lesnar.

Bianca Belair (+1100)

Belair’s shot at another WrestleMania feels like it should be a lock. The "EST" already has one win at the rumble on her resume. She has also held both the Raw and SmackDown women’s titles. Her current feud with current WWE Women’s Champion Iyo Sky and the entire Damage CTRL crew lends itself to a second Belair win at the Rumble.

However, the crowded women’s division makes it difficult to be confident that Belair is the thread to follow. She will have to contend with a majority of Damage CTRL as well as Lynch and Jax, all of which have laid claim to a victory.

She has seen her odds plunge from +1600 to +1100 after defeating Bayley in a recent SmackDown. Belair landed the Kiss of Death on the "Role Model" with the rest of her crew in attendance.

How to bet on the Royal Rumble

Most United States books do not offer odds on the Royal Rumble. Overseas bettors should consult their local books for the most current odds. Betting on this event is no different than betting on a large group market, such as an outright winner for a NASCAR race or golf tournament.

Some books do offer prop markets on the Royal Rumble, such as which superstar will last the longest (also known as the match 'Ironman') or who will record the most eliminations in the match?

How do Royal Rumble odds work?

Royal Rumble odds reflect the projected winner of the 30-wrestler main event. For instance, a $10 bet on The Rock to win the Rumble at +300 will result in a $30 profit and a $40 total payout.

As the favorite for the men's Royal Rumble, CM Punk's -162 odds equate to a 61.83% implied win probability, according to our odds converter.

Royal Rumble betting analysis

The Royal Rumble odds reflect the projected winner of the main event which features 30 wrestlers entering the ring at 90-second intervals. Not all of the participants have been officially announced and as the WWE is prone to unexpected plot twists, we may not ever get the full card. With that in mind, betting on this event presents unique challenges.

Books recognize the scripted nature of the sport and set the favorites accordingly. That said, there is not much value in the longer shots here unless their storyline shifts in the next few weeks. Even with the growing number of wrestlers declaring their participation, always expect a few surprises along the way. As more wrestlers join the card, expect these prices to fluctuate.
