On the back of another clutch Kimi Antonelli performance, I'm looking into the Hungarian Grand Prix odds and favorites.

Antonelli is the betting favorite after winning his sixth race of the season, with the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton receiving the second and third-shortest odds. I'm backing one of the Ferrari drivers to upset the teenage Italian because of the Hungaroring's slow and twisty layout.

🏁 Early pick to win Hungarian Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc (+400) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Leclerc is back to a version resembling his best as the Ferrari driver won the British Grand Prix and finished second in Sunday's Belgian GP behind Antonelli

I always preferred Antonelli to win because of the consistent long straightaways in Belgium. However, that is not the case for the Hungaroring, which is the fifth-slowest race on the F1 grid. It is chock-full of tight, twisty corners, providing a slight advantage for Ferrari's SW26.

The SW26 doesn't match the Mercedes W17's power, but it is the best car on the grid in corners. It's a toss-up between Leclerc and Hamilton, although I favor the former because of his first and second-place finishes in the last two races.

💰 Early picks & best bets for Hungarian Grand Prix

Here's a look at the best alternatives on the board looking ahead to Sunday's race:

Lewis Hamilton (+400)

Hamilton finished on the podium in four of the previous six races, securing first or second place three times. He wasn't at his best at the Belgian GP and secured fourth place after running into George Russell in the opening lap of the race.

Hamilton almost finished among the top three despite overcoming a five-second penalty and the damage to his SW117. Had that incident not occurred, Hamilton would have likely challenged Antonelli and Leclerc at the top of the grid.

With the Hungaroring often likened to the Monaco GP, I like Hamilton's chances of pulling off a controlled, mistake-free race.

Kimi Antonelli (+175)

Antonelli won his sixth race in 10 attempts this season at the Belgian GP, securing his first victory in four races. He was controlled throughout, fending off all challengers, including the surging Leclerc.

Antonelli also won the Monaco GP, a track that shares many similarities with Hungaroring. If he finishes first in qualifying, Antonelli will be difficult to beat.

If his car doesn't endure any mechanical issues, Antonelli is the obvious favorite. But thanks to the track's 14 continuous corners, I'm giving the slight edge to Ferrari.

Max Verstappen (+600)

The 2022 and 2023 Hungarian GP winner enjoyed one of his best performances of the season in Belgium, finishing on the podium for the third time.

In the last five races in which he finished, Verstappen didn't place below fifth place. The recent Red Bull upgrades are paying off, and Verstappen is cutting the deficit between himself, Ferrari, and Mercedes.

All the corners of the Hungaroring act as the great equalizer, which should favor Verstappen and the still slightly inferior RB22.
