The second major of the season is here, and my French Open predictions feature Jannik Sinner, Elena Rybakina, and Elina Svitolina.

Sinner is the gigantic -275 betting favorite on the men's side, while Iga Swiatek is the women's marginal front-runner. Sinner's form has been so dominant that, at times, it looks like he's facing amateurs. I love Rybakina's game entering the action at Roland-Garros, and the same goes for my long-shot pick, Svitolina.

🏆 French Open men's pick: Jannik Sinner (-275)

With Carlos Alcaraz not participating, the path is clear for another Sinner major. The Italian is unstoppable, especially without the prospect of facing his biggest and fiercest rival.

In truth, few can compete with Sinner in a five-set match, including GOAT Novak Djokovic, who will be fatigued and worn down if they eventually square off. Sinner joined Djokovic as the only players to complete the sweep of the clay-court Masters 1000 tournaments, making it 29 consecutive wins in the process.

The odds are not palatable by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm unwilling to trust players like Alexander Zverev and Casper Ruud, among others, who haven't proven they can beat Sinner on this stage.

🏆 French Open women's pick: Elena Rybakina (+650)

Rybakina is among several women who can win at Roland-Garros. While her clay-court game isn't her specialty, Rybakina is still elite on the slower surface. She proved it again earlier in the clay-court season by winning the Stuttgart Open.

She lost to the scorching-hot Elina Svitolina in the Italian Open semifinal, but made another strong account of herself on the surface often perceived as her weakest.

Rybakina is bursting with confidence after winning the Australian Open and falling in the semifinals of the Miami Open to world no. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.

🎯 Best French Open long shot pick: Elina Svitolina (+1900)

Svitolina enters the French Open at the peak of her power, losing in the semifinal of the Stuttgart Open and in the Italian Open final to Coco Gauff in a three-set thriller.

She advanced to at least the semifinal in five of the previous eight tournaments, including at the Australian Open, where she fell to Sabalenka in the semifinal. With Sabalenka enduring a trying clay-court season and Iga Swiatek struggling with consistency, the door is open for Svitolina.

FanDuel offers the best price (+1900) at the best sports betting sites. Those odds imply a 5% win probability.

💡 How I'm betting French Open 2026

I'm investing 3 units on Sinner to make the bet worthwhile. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of the extremely high price to pay for Sinner, but I feel there's no alternative, considering his utter dominance on tour.

Rybakina can beat anyone on her day, and I love the swagger she's playing with at the moment. I'm investing a unit on her to win.

Meanwhile, I'm tossing a half unit on Svitolina, as she's been knocking on the door of a tour win since the start of the season, and she's been superb on clay. Each unit is $10.

📆 When does French Open 2026 start?
