The Donald Trump U.S. presidential election odds for 2024 feature him as the narrow betting favorite with our best sports betting sites (outside the U.S.) prior to November's election.

Donald Trump's path to securing the Republican nomination was as breezy as expected. But now he's encountering some stiff winds.

Trump remains the front-runner by the odds at our best sportsbooks, but his advantage has been steadily shrinking over the past month. After once being listed universally at deep minus odds, he's at even or plus money nearly across the board. More stunningly, bet365 is showing him dead even with Joe Biden after the incumbent was trailing significantly not long ago.

Biden has been more of a threat while rising steadily since his State of the Union speech. At a minimum, he's stopped the bleeding in his campaign and isn't allowing Trump to keep breaking away early. Polls keep showing that to be true, including a recent Emerson College poll that revealed a virtual dead heat, with Trump's 1% lead within the margin of error.

To complement our 2024 U.S. presidential election odds and Republican election odds, here is our look at the top Donald Trump presidential election odds for 2024 from our best sportsbooks (odds available only from Ontario sports betting sites).

Donald Trump presidential election odds 2024 analysis

Our best sports betting sites have shifted the presidential odds significantly in recent weeks. Trump remains the front-runner, but he no longer holds a commanding lead.

Trump keeps falling back gradually, and he now sits at around even money through most books, with the rogue price from Caesars the exception. But Biden keeps making notable strides to close the gap. The incumbent was listed as long as +240 not long ago, and now he's commonly down to +110 or +120.

Biden is rebounding while Trump is remaining stagnant, at least in the polls. The current president keeps getting favorable poll results after facing a six-point deficit as recently as early March.

However, both candidates come with their warts. Age is the primary one for Biden, and legal issues are the problem following Trump. But there may be a broader and deeper challenge for both, as a YouGov poll showed that 48% of respondents hold negative feelings about a 2020 rematch.

Trump might be feeling the impact of the negative headlines tied to his legal entanglements (his Stormy Daniels hush-money trial is now slated to begin April 15). Either way, the poll gains are crucial for the president, and at least somewhat concerning for his Republican challenger.

But Biden's unpopularity is still a significant advantage for Trump. The president's approval rating was as low as 37.6%. It's rebounded slightly, but still sits at a worrisome 39.3%, according to FiveThirtyEight.

Donald Trump Republican presidential nominee odds analysis 2024

Trump didn't face a real challenge in the Republican field. His odds to become the nominee shortened dramatically just prior to Super Tuesday, going from -2500 to -5000 at bet365. He then officially secured the nomination and enough delegates days later.

Ron DeSantis was once thought to be Trump's top competition, but his campaign fizzled fast before the Florida governor dropped out just before the New Hampshire primary, endorsing Trump in the process. That endorsement contributed to Trump's Republican odds spiking even further.

Nikki Haley was repeatedly thumped too before finally ending her campaign the morning after Super Tuesday. However, she stopped short of endorsing Trump, instead saying she wishes him well, and that the former president now needs to "earn the votes in our party and beyond it who did not support him."

Trump did receive a critical endorsement from Mitch McConnell, the Senate minority leader and one of the most powerful Republicans. The two had once sparred, but now McConnell says he's eager to work with Trump again.

"I look forward to the opportunity of switching from playing defense against the terrible policies the Biden administration has pursued to a sustained offense geared toward making a real difference in improving the lives of the American people,” McConnell said in a statement.
