I don't think they'll be successful, and I'm backing the Italian to extend his streak in my Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix predictions. He's the betting favorite (+100) entering the pre-race events, with teammate George Russell receiving the second-shortest odds despite his recent, well-documented struggles.

🏆 Pick to win Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix: Kimi Antonelli
Can the 19-year-old be stopped this season? While he's bound to lose one eventually, I'm not betting against a driver who has picked up five straight victories. He wasn't the favorite at the Monaco Grand Prix, with the slower track and tighter corners expected to favor Ferrari.
That didn't faze Antonell, who cruised to another impressive victory. There is no doubt that Antonelli has benefited from his car's superior performance. However, the Italian has done his part, maintaining composure while showing his versatile skill set.
He'll take advantage of one of the 10 fastest tracks on the circuit, which is more conducive to a Mercedes victory.
🥉 Top 3 finish: Max Verstappen
Verstappen was on to something before his car stalled at the start of the Monaco Grand Prix. He finished fifth in Miami before securing his first podium finish of the season at the Canadian Grand Prix.
He finished second in qualifying behind Kimi Antonelli in Monte Carlo and looked to be in contention for the win before disaster struck at the start of the race. His car stalled, forcing an unlikely early retirement.
Verstappen is only two years removed from winning his third straight at Barcelona-Catalunya, and I expect him to recover from the unfortunate events in Monaco with style and secure his second podium finish.

🏎️ Both Ferrari drivers to finish in top 6
Racing with confidence and finally showcasing some mastery of his car, Lewis Hamilton finished second in the last two races. He has three podium finishes and hasn't finished below sixth place this season.
Charles Leclerc, meanwhile, was forced to retire late from his home course in Monte Carlo due to a rear brake issue. He was in a position to finish on the podium and secured fourth place in the previous race in Canada.
Leclerc has finished fourth or better in four of six races. Both drivers have remained consistent for the most part, and I like their chances in Barcelona to put in another solid performance.
💡 How I'm betting the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix
I'm locking in two minus-odds and an even-odds play for Sunday's race. Nobody has shown they can beat Antonelli this season, so I'm not overthinking it. His win in Monte Carlo provided even more confidence.
I'm basing the Verstappen pick on his recent performances and his exceptional record in Barcelona. He wasn't at fault for his Monaco GP retirement, a key variable in making the selection.
Leclerc and Hamilton have been the most consistent pair outside of George Russell and Antonelli, making it a relatively easy decision. I'm investing one unit in every bet. Each unit is $10.
