Kimi Antonelli did it again, this time winning the Monaco GP despite not being the favorite before the pre-race events got underway.

Antonelli proved a lot of people wrong during a frenzied race that saw three pre-race favorites (Charles Leclerc, Max Verstappen, and Lando Norris) drop out at various stages. The Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix odds have Antonelli - who has won five straight - at the top of the leaderboard.

While I'm backing the Italian to pick up a sixth straight victory, a few other appealing alternatives are worth considering.

🏁 Early pick to win Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix

Kimi Antonelli (+110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The 19-year-old again proved his unrivaled brilliance by winning his fifth straight race, this time in Monte Carlo. The Mercedes driver is already 66 points ahead of second-place Lewis Hamilton, who jumped ahead of the discombobulated George Russell.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is among the 10 fastest tracks on the circuit, which will be music to Antonelli's ears.

Despite Circuit de Monaco being the slowest, Antonelli found a way to win, dispelling the hype and overcoming Ferrari's perceived advantage.

While there were a bunch of mitigating factors, Antonelli led from start to finish. If he can't be beaten at the Monaco GP, I don't see him losing on a track more conducive to his powerful car's strengths.

💰 Early picks & best bets for Barcelona-Catalunya

Here's a look at the best alternatives on the board looking ahead to Sunday's race:

Oscar Piastri (+1200)

Oscar Piastri finished second, third, and fourth in the previous three races. He's been among the best of those trying to rein in Antonelli.

Amidst the chaos that ensued in Monaco, Piastri remained poised and calm and secured fourth place despite seeing Verstappen, Leclerc, and teammate Norris fall by the wayside.

His consistency in the last three races, combined with his car's durability, is why I'm backing him as an Antonelli alternative. He won last year at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya when it was known as the Spanish Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen (+600)

Verstappen showed glimpses of his best in Monte Carlo, finishing second behind Antonelli in qualifying before stalling at the starting block on race day. His car suffered a catastrophic power unit failure, preventing the four-time champion from continuing.

Had his car not given out, Verstappen may have battled Antonelli for first place. He had his best finish of the season at the Canadian GP in the previous race and finished fifth in Miami.

It feels like he's building something finally, and I'd be surprised to see him regress on Sunday. A win might not be on the cards, but I expect him to be competing at the top.

Lewis Hamilton (+1400)

Lewis Hamilton is finally on the verge of mastering the SF-26 car. While it's taken countless tweaks and upgrades, Hamilton is one of the most confident and assured drivers on the grid at the moment. That can change, but I'm making this pick based on his current form, which has been sparkling.

He finished second at the Monaco GP, his second straight runner-up placement. Before finishing second in Montreal, Hamilton scored his first podium finish at the Chinese Grand Prix in the second race of the season.

If something anomalous happens to Antonelli, Hamilton is among the most likely to take advantage, especially as he won five in a row on this circuit between 2017 and 2021.
