After winning his sixth race of the season at the Belgian Grand Prix, Kimi Antonelli is the betting favorite for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring (9 a.m. ET, ESPN). While Antonelli always represents an appealing pick to win, my Hungarian Grand Prix predictions feature Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, as I believe the race suits Ferrari's SF-26.

Let's get into why I'm backing Scuderia for the season's 11th race.

🏆 Pick to win Hungarian Grand Prix: Charles Leclerc

Leclerc is in the midst of his best patch of the season. He won the British Grand Prix and finished second in Belgium behind Antonelli. His confidence is soaring after successive podium finishes, and he won qualifying at last season's Hungarian Grand Prix.

Leclerc has had the pace to compete with Mercedes over the last couple of races and is showing more control over his car than he has since the start of the season.

There's also the fact that the Hungaroring should nullify the advantage of Mercedes' more powerful car, which I discuss more below.

👊 Ferrari to win the race

With Antonelli showcasing unrivaled dominance this season, ordinarily I'd back Mercedes to win the race. However, I'm not confident in George Russell at the moment; Ferrari is on an excellent run, and the Hungaroring should favor Scuderia.

The track is the fifth-slowest on the F1 grid as it's full of tight, twisty corners. It's often thought of as the race that most closely resembles the Monaco Grand Prix.

The SF-26 is the best cornering car in F1 at the moment and has the advantage out of the starting gate. In addition, the lack of straightaways won't allow the more powerful Mercedes to showcase its capabilities like other tracks.

🏎️ Lewis Hamilton to finish top 3

Hamilton finished on the podium in four of the previous six races. While he's only finished among the top three once in the previous three races, he was unlucky at the Belgian Grand Prix.

He secured fourth place there despite running into Russell on the opening lap and suffering a five-second penalty.

He's been among the best all season and is only 45 points behind Antonelli at the top of the drivers' standings. Hamilton has showcased his mastery of the car on circuits that don't favor Ferrari, so I expect him to excel at a track that does.

💡 How I'm betting the Hungarian Grand Prix

Despite the Hungaroring helping bridge the gap between the top two cars, Mercedes is still the clear favorite to win. That's why I'm only investing half a unit on Leclerc to win his second race of the season.

I'm slightly more confident about Ferrari's ability to win, given Russell's struggles and Hamilton and Leclerc's recent success.

Speaking of Hamilton, he has been excellent for most of the season, which is why I'm investing a full unit in him finishing on the podium for the sixth time this season.
