Chiefs vs. Buccaneers Super Bowl LV
It wasn’t pretty but Tom Brady will go for his seventh Super Bowl. The legendary quarterback led the Buccaneers to a 31-26 road win against the Packers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday and now his team has reached their second Super Bowl in franchise history. It will be Brady’s 10th Super Bowl!
Brady didn’t play well, completing 20 of 36 passes for 280 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions but the Tampa Bay defense stepped up. Green Bay kicking a field goal on 4th and goal down 31-23 with just over two minutes left also helped.
The Buccaneers won Super Bowl XXXVII on January 26th, 2003 when they beat the Raiders 48-21 and now they will play Super Bowl LV at home (no team has ever played a Super Bowl in their home stadium!). Patrick Mahomes and the defending champs will try to prevent Brady from growing his legend even more. The Chiefs advanced to Super Bowl LV after beating the Bills 38-24 in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday. The Bills took a 9-0 lead but the Chiefs scored 21 unanswered points and never looked back. Patrick Mahomes completed 29 of 38 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns, Tyreek Hill caught nine passes for 172 yards and Travis Kelce had 13 receptions for 118 yards and two touchdowns.
Kansas City held a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter of their seven games against teams with a winning record this season. The Chiefs have been the best team in the league all season long but they’re facing the Bucs, who are led by the greatest quarterback of all-time, many talented weapons on offense and an incredible defense. These two teams already met at Raymond James Stadium in Week 11 and the Chiefs won 27-24 on November 29th. This will be another epic game!
