The NFL Coach of the Year award for the 2024-25 season with NFL odds from our best NFL betting sites has some of the most variance we're seeing from any market this far out from the season.

Kevin Stefanski has already won NFL Coach of the Year twice in his four-year tenure with the Cleveland Browns after claiming the award in 2023, becoming the 12th coach in NFL history to win it multiple times. However, the early betting odds for the 2024-25 award expect another coach to join him.

New Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has been tabbed as the early favorite (+800) to win the award best sportsbooks. Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur (+1600) remains a popular second choice and new Atlanta Falcons boss Raheem Morris (+1200) is also among the top competitors for the award.

Here's a look at the opening odds to win the 2024-25 NFL Coach of the Year Award via our best sports betting sites, along with a recap of last year's results.

Who is the NFL Coach of the Year favorite?

Jim Harbaugh (+800 via FanDuel)

The last time Harbaugh took a new coaching job in the NFL, he won this award in runaway fashion. So it makes sense why he's the early favorite to do so again.

That first award-winning season came in 2011 when he led the San Francisco 49ers to a 13-3 record in his first season at the helm. By the time he left four years later, he had compiled the fifth-best win percentage (69.5%) of any head coach in NFL history - even if he had worn out his welcome by the end.

Harbaugh will be a fresh face for the Chargers' organization, and he has the talent at his disposal to hit the ground running. He could very well win this award, though his own reputation as an elite coach may set the initial expectations too high.

NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds: Contender

Raheem Morris (+1200 via Caesars)

I like the Atlanta Falcons' chances to surprise as a long-shot contender in 2023, and even more so now that they've landed Kirk Cousins to be their new signal-caller. If that happens, it will do wonders for Morris' candidacy in this market.

Oddsmakers are already ahead of that with this short price on Morris, who was uneven in his previous role as a head coach with a combined 21-38 record (.356) in parts of four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2009-11) and Falcons (2020).

He's since worked alongside some of the league's brightest minds, Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, and Dan Quinn, and his defensive acumen helped lead the Los Angeles Rams to a title in 2021-22. If Atlanta's defense shines in 2023, he'll be a popular name for this award.

NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds: Long shot

Dan Campbell (+4000 FanDuel)

This is a bit of a funky market for long shots, as most of the NFL's best coaches have the longest odds because of the high expectations they've set for themselves.

That is certainly true of Campbell, who finished third in voting in 2023 after leading the Detroit Lions to their first NFC North title in 30 years. What if they climb even higher in 2024, though? Surely Campbell would get the lion's share of credit if Detroit were to claim the NFC's top seed for the first time in franchise history.

That isn't out of the question for a group that returns its key players (and coaches) from 2023 and enters this offseason with $60 million in cap space. The Lions' odds of posting the NFC's best record will likely be shorter than Campbell's COTY odds, which makes this an intriguing play at a long-shot price.

NFL Coach of the Year betting analysis

DraftKings was the first of our best sports betting apps to release NFL Coach of the Year odds, but over the last four weeks the market has opened up at most sportsbooks. The odds will then be impacted by free agency and trades and will be further impacted by the NFL draft and offseason reports before preseason games are even played.

In the past, it has proven successful to back a first-year head coach taking over a team that struggled the previous season(s) but has a stable of former high draft picks. Once the season starts, bettors can look to hedge with the coach of an injury-riddled team, like Stefanski in 2023-24.
