NFL win total odds analysis
DraftKings and Caesars were the first books to release regular-season win totals. It should come as no surprise that the Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, and Cincinnati Bengals have the highest projected win totals. FanDuel, BetMGM, and PointsBet joined the mix following the 2023 NFL Draft and the 2023 NFL schedule release.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Detroit Lions both finished 9-8 last season and have seen their projected win totals for 2023 balloon as a result. Among the teams going in the opposite direction are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (O/U 6.5), who lost Tom Brady to retirement, and Green Bay Packers (O/U 7.5), who are also expected to lose a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers.

NFL team win totals 2023: Favorite
Eagles Under 10.5 (+165 via Caesars)
The Philadelphia Eagles are the class of a weak conference, so it may come as a surprise that our recommendation here is to take the Under on their win total. But the reality is the Eagles lost notable key pieces via free agency (DT Javon Hargrave, S C.J. Gardner-Johnson). They also were poached of their offensive and defensive coordinators.
The Eagles will also be playing a first-place schedule in 2023 and their opponents include the AFC East and NFC West. The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins are Super Bowl contenders, the New York Jets will be better with Rodgers under center, the San Francisco 49ers are the Eagles' biggest contender in the NFC, and the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks are difficult road opponents. Add in a potential Super Bowl hangover and it could equal a drop-off in the win column for Philly in 2023.

Lions Over 9.5 (-122 via FanDuel)
The Lions are the preseason darlings after they ripped off five wins in their final six games of 2022. Detroit was aggressive in free agency, adding Gardner-Johnson, corners Emmanuel Moseley and Cameron Sutton, and running back David Montgomery.
The division has also opened up with Rodgers' expected departure. The Lions finished 9-8 last year and should be able to find at least one more victory in the weakened NFC North.
NFL team win totals 2023: Long shot
Bears Under 7.5 (+115 via DraftKings)
The Chicago Bears are on their way to building a much more competitive roster, having traded for wideout D.J. Moore and acquiring additional draft picks. But a leap from three wins to eight is a bridge too far.
The Bears will be better in 2023, but bettors should race to the window to take Under 7.5 wins at even money.

Saints Under 9.5 (-130)
The New Orleans Saints are the favorites to come out of the NFC South after adding quarterback Derek Carr. But a league-average quarterback should not result in an additional three wins for the Saints.
New Orleans went 7-10 last year, and though its record in the division should be better than 2-4, 10 wins is too much to expect from a team that still has availability question marks at key positions, notably with running back Alvin Kamara and wideout Michael Thomas.
