The first edition of Sunday Night Football for the 2024-25 NFL season will be played Thursday, Sept. 5, when the Baltimore Ravens visit the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in an AFC championship rematch that'll be aired on NBC at 8:20 p.m. ET. We've already broken down the Ravens vs. Chiefs odds for Week 1 here, with the Chiefs as moderate favorites at home.
The Ravens and Chiefs are among the top favorites by the Super Bowl odds, and quarterbacks Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes are primary contenders by the NFL MVP odds, so this season opener is expectedly to be one of the top matchups for the entire 2024-25 NFL season.

The Chiefs return their Super Bowl-winning core, including Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, defensive lineman Chris Jones, and head coach Andy Reid. Meanwhile, the Ravens bid farewell to several star defensive players this offseason with their marquee addition being veteran running back Derrick Henry.
We're not expecting these odds and/or lines to move much between now and September, barring injuries or any other major developments this offseason. And it's also safe to expect this to be one of the most-bet games of the entire 2024-25 campaign.
