Here's an unpopular opinion: the Kansas City Chiefs are the best team in the NFL, and they lead my 2025 Super Bowl predictions and picks heading into Week 14.

That shouldn't be a controversial take, yet the two-time reigning champions rank fourth in the latest Super Bowl odds despite owning the NFL's best record (11-1) through the first 13 weeks of the 2024 NFL regular season.

I also have my eyes on two Super Bowl long shots who offer value across our best Super Bowl betting sites as part of my updated Super Bowl predictions.

Who is predicted to win the Super Bowl?

Live updated Super Bowl odds from our best NFL betting sites.

As we've seen the last two weeks, the Detroit Lions are the favorites to win the Super Bowl for the first time in NFL history.

The Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles are right behind them after statement wins in Week 13 before massive audiences. The Bills blew out the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football - which bolstered Josh Allen's NFL MVP odds - a few hours after the Eagles outlasted the Baltimore Ravens on the road.

Those wins kicked Kansas City to the fourth spot despite the Chiefs winning the last two Lombardi Trophies. That feels like a grievous mistake by our best sportsbooks.

Best bet: Chiefs (+550)

I want you to imagine that you have reached the pinnacle of your job - heck, your entire life - for two years in a row. Now imagine how well you'd perform your regular duties on a random weekday in the fall.

That's what we're seeing from the Chiefs, who have won two straight Super Bowls and clearly know how to turn it on in the postseason. The fact that they've won 11 of their first 12 games is a minor miracle, even if nine came by the skin of their teeth.

As I've said for weeks, Kansas City is clearly sleepwalking through the regular season, and it's already proven to us last year that it can shake off four months of rust and turn in four weeks of outstanding football.

In the end, I'm not going to bet against Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Steve Spagnuolo in January and February. I've done it before, and I'm poorer for doing so. I refuse to be the fool this time around.

Ask yourself this: does Kansas City have better than a 15% chance of another Super Bowl victory after winning two straight and three of the last five? If so, this is still an easy bet to make at FanDuel, where a winning $10 bet would profit $55.

Expert Super Bowl picks

Prediction: Vikings to win the NFC (+1000)

I highlighted the Vikings a couple weeks ago after their 8-2 start. They've since won two straight games, albeit in close fashion, and their odds haven't changed.

That feels like a mistake by our best sports betting apps, especially since this team still ranks sixth in net EPA per play (+0.15) with one of the league's best defenses by any advanced metric of your choosing.

Oh, and it features one of the best receivers of all time in Justin Jefferson with one of the best play-calling tandems in the NFL - with Kevin O'Connell calling the shots on offense and Brian Flores dialing up chaos on defense.

By my money, there isn't a team in the NFL with a bigger misalignment between their title odds and their actual path to the Super Bowl. If the Vikings can navigate the messy NFC and book its ticket to New Orleans for the Super Bowl, a $10 bet at FanDuel would return a $100 profit.

Prediction: Chargers to win the Super Bowl (+3500)

I'm a bit puzzled why there isn't more hype around this team, especially since it possesses all the key ingredients of a Super Bowl contender in theory.

Justin Herbert is one of the five best quarterbacks in the NFL, and he's proven it this year even with less gaudy counting stats in Greg Roman's system. Jim Harbaugh has consistently coached winning teams at every level, and he's doing it again in his first year in Los Angeles.

Pair that with a borderline top-five defense depending on the week and a physical rushing attack that runs 2-3 players deep, and I'm not sure what there isn't to like.

The latest NFL playoff odds have the Bolts as a virtual lock for the postseason, and I just can't shake the feeling that Herbert and Harbaugh can pull off a four-game win streak under pressure. That's why I love this long-shot value as a hedge in case the Chiefs don't pull it off.

Super Bowl odds: AFC vs. NFC

Super Bowl conference winner odds via DraftKings.

There's a reason I have the Chiefs and Chargers to win the Super Bowl but the Vikings to win the NFC - the AFC is simply the better conference.

The Conference of Quarterbacks™ has won seven of the last 10 Super Bowls, including two straight, and three of the five consensus title favorites hail from the AFC entering Week 14.

That obviously includes the two-time reigning champion Chiefs, who are my pick to win it all. If they don't, my money is on the Bills, Ravens, or Chargers stopping their path as opposed to Kansas City losing in the Big Game.

I'm intrigued by the exact matchup odds at DraftKings of the Chiefs beating the Vikings (+2500) or the Vikings beating the Chiefs (+3000), though I'd still rather just bet one of those teams straight up.
