Texans vs. Bengals Predictions, Picks, Odds Week 10: Bengals Defense Roars

Check out our top predictions for the matchup between the Texans and Bengals based on the best NFL odds.

The Cincinnati Bengals play host to the Houston Texans in Week 10, and our top Texans vs. Bengals prediction is calling for the Cincy defense to have another strong showing at Paycor Stadium. We search for the best NFL odds from our best sports betting apps when making all our NFL picks.

The Cincinnati Bengals, currently standing at 5-3, have experienced a surge in form with four consecutive wins, notably coinciding with the improved performance of quarterback Joe Burrow. Burrow, who initially faced challenges due to a calf injury at the beginning of the season, has evidently found his rhythm, contributing significantly to the team's recent success. The Bengals' impressive winning streak underscores their resilience and offensive prowess, with Burrow playing a pivotal role in their resurgence after overcoming early-season setbacks.

A number of Burrow’s top wide receivers are injured, so will Cincy defense be able to step up and slow down Houston Texans rookie QB C.J. Stroud, or will the Texans move to 5-4 with a road upset?

To accompany our best Joe Burrow NFL player prop predictions and NFL Week 10 predictions, here's our Texans-Bengals prediction (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Texans vs. Bengals prediction

Bengals -6 (-115 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Editor's note: This spread has now dropped to -5.5 at most of our best sportsbooks.

After a sluggish start to the year that can be attributed to Joe Burrow’s calf injury, the Bengals have looked like a well-oiled machine against quality competition in recent weeks, knifing through the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills and covered in each of those victories. Include the two-touchdown win over Arizona to begin this stretch, and you realize that the Bengals have covered in four straight.

While Houston’s jaw-dropping win over the Bucs last week was one for the season-long NFL highlight reel, it feels premature to view the Texans in the same class as Cincinnati at this stage of their rebuild. C.J. Stroud has had bright moments but has not consistently delivered on a week-to-week basis in his rookie season.

Injuries to Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins (Out) and wideout Ja’Marr Chase (Questionable) are likely responsible for the spread moving in our favor across the key number of -7. These concerns don’t shake my confidence in the Bengals being able to handle their business, especially defensively, in order to cover this spread. Cincinnati hasn’t allowed more than 17 points in any of its last three home games.

The Texans have been held to 20 or fewer points five times this season in three of their four road games. The Bengals are 2-1-1 ATS in home games this season.

Texans vs. Bengals best odds

DraftKings: Bengals -6 (-115)

DraftKings FanDuel BetMGM Caesars bet365
Bengals -6 Bengals -6.5 Bengals -6.5 Bengals -6.5 Bengals -6.5
-115 -110 -110 -110 -110

Most of our best sports betting apps list Cincinnati at -6.5 with standard -110 odds. We consider that line at FanDuel, BetMGM, Caesars, and bet365 to be a three-star play.

But if you can bet the Bengals at the current DraftKings odds, we consider it a four-star value. The mere nickel price differential on the odds from -110 to -115 to gain the hook and avoid the notion of an outright loss on a six-point Bengals victory is well worth it.
