NFL futures markets are heavily populated and include such team futures as best record odds and worst record odds. Here are picks and predictions for the team to finish the 2023-24 season with the worst record, using NFL odds from the best sports betting sites.

Despite their best efforts, the Arizona Cardinals are 0-1 to begin the 2023 NFL season.

The Cardinals entered the campaign as heavy favorites to emerge with the worst record in football, but they almost started in surprising fashion while challenging the Washington Commanders in Week 1. They would ultimately lose the game 20-16.

Their competitiveness has done nothing to sway sportsbooks, as the Cardinals are still heavily favored to post the worst record.

Here are the latest NFL worst record odds (dead heat rules apply at select books).

NFL worst record odds movement

The books that kept this futures bet available let the Week 1 outcomes heavily sway the numbers.

Teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers were among the favorites to post the worst record and are now available at +2700 and +2800, respectively, at FanDuel.

Those who believed prior to the season that the Raiders and Bucs would finish dead last should consider buying now at those prices. Upset victories over the equally disappointing Denver Broncos and Minnesota Vikings shouldn't keep Vegas and Tampa out of the worst-record conversation.

NFL worst record odds 2023: Favorite

Cardinals (+250 via FanDuel)

The Cardinals' odds dropped from +280 to +250 at FanDuel after they opened the season 0-1. Still, with their narrow loss the Cards proved that they'll remain competitive on the field in 2023.

However, their next four games come against 2022 playoff teams: the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers, and Cincinnati Bengals. It won't be long before Arizona's odds are at even money.

NFL worst record odds 2023: Contender

Texans (+650 via FanDuel)

The Houston Texans were also competitive, but they eventually lost in blowout fashion during Week 1. Now their odds dropped from +1000 to +650 after a 25-9 defeat to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Texans fielded 11 rookie and first-year players in Week 1, and it showed on Sunday. Wins will be hard to come by in Houston.

NFL worst record odds 2023: Long shot

Colts (+1000 via bet365)

Our long shot was victorious in Week 1, yet the odds still dropped on the Indianapolis Colts to post the worst record, going from as long as +1400 to +1000 at bet365.

We still believe wins will be few and far between in Indy, but the Colts could get off to a 2-0 start after a Week 2 game against the Texans.

NFL worst record odds 2023: Fade

Rams (+1100 via FanDuel)

Our preseason fade's odds went from a long of +1100 to the +1800 currently being posted at FanDuel. The Los Angeles Rams secured an upset of the rival Seattle Seahawks and vowed to be competitive the rest of the way.

Barring any more injuries to star players like the one that has befallen Cooper Kupp, the Rams should be able to stay out of the basement.
