Super Bowl expert picks

Isiah Pacheco anytime touchdown scorer (+148 via BetRivers)

The Chiefs figure to have a big advantage over the Eagles in the red zone. Per Next Gen Stats, Kansas City’s offense ranks eighth in red zone rushing, while Philadelphia’s defense ranks dead last. Furthermore, the Chiefs averaged 3.3 yards per carry in the red zone (seventh-most in the regular season), while the Eagles' defense allowed plus-54 rushing yards over expectation (RYOE), the most in the NFL.

With several of Kansas City’s wide receivers dealing with injuries the last two weeks, Pacheco also figures to be utilized more in the passing game. Back the rookie to score with your Isiah Pacheco Super Bowl prop bets. - Spector

Chiefs moneyline (+105 via Caesars)

The betting public absolutely loves the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, yet the line has barely moved. Sixty-five percent of bettors are backing the Eagles to cover the spread, but the number is in no danger of hitting a key number.

Patrick Mahomes signals in practice and is expected to lead the Chiefs to a moneyline victory in our Super Bowl expert picks.

That being said, I simply do not understand why the Eagles are getting so much love. Yes, they looked amazing in their two playoff games, but they went up against an overachieving New York Giants team that they knew well and a San Francisco 49ers unit that had to rely on their fourth-string quarterback for much of the game. For those saying, but look what they did against that great 49ers' defense, think about how long that group had to be on the field compared to normal.

The Chiefs seem as though they are being punished for finding a way to squeak out a three-point win over the Cincinnati Bengals, while quarterback Patrick Mahomes played on a busted ankle and their three leading wide receivers were on the sideline at the end of the game. The Eagles are great on both sides of the ball, but so are the Chiefs. And the Chiefs have a team that has been on this stage before and knows what it's like to both win and lose. - Wood

First half Over 24.5 (+100 via DraftKings)

Whether it’s because of the pressure of the big stage, a bit of rust from two weeks off or simply the teams feeling each other out, most of the recent Super Bowls have seen low-scoring starts. That’s why we get a first-half total that’s less than half of the full game total of 51, not to mention the chance to get even odds on the Over.

That’s simply too low for a matchup featuring the two teams that were the highest-scoring first-half squads in the NFL this season, with Philadelphia averaging 18.2 points and Kansas City averaging 15.5 points. Those trends have continued throughout the playoffs, where Philly scored 49 first-half points in blowouts of the Giants and 49ers while the Chiefs averaged 15 first-half points in victories over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Bengals. - Cooper

Chiefs moneyline (+105 via Caesars)

I respect that the Eagles have one of the most complete rosters in the NFL, but I can't get over the idea that Philadelphia hasn't been tested all season in the way that Mahomes will test this group.

The Eagles traversed the arduous path of quarterbacks Daniel Jones and Josh Johnson to reach the Super Bowl. While they deserve credit for knocking Brock Purdy out of the NFC Championship Game, that outcome deprived us of really learning what the Philly defense would do against an elite offense at full strength.

When the Eagles faced Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott in December, he torched them for 347 yards and three passing touchdowns. Aaron Rodgers' Green Bay Packers scored 33 points against Philly. I like getting Mahomes at plus money on the moneyline against a team whose vaunted defense hasn't fared well against the few capable quarterbacks it has faced this season. - Schaeffer
