NFL Survivor Picks Week 8: Bolt Ahead with Chargers

Week 8 of the 2023 NFL season has arrived, and here are our favorite survivor picks.

In his top NFL survivor picks for Week 8, Sportsbook Review betting analyst Neil Parker has ranked the Los Angeles Chargers as his number one choice. He ranks his selections based on the NFL odds from our best sports betting apps.

Survivor pool participants faced a challenging Week 7 with six teams on a bye and limited clear favorites. Fortunately, Week 8 offers a more favorable schedule.

As of Friday morning, five teams are still favored by a touchdown or more, with the Philadelphia Eagles falling just half a point short of the crucial 7-point mark.

It can quickly prove to be a fool’s errand to look too far ahead in survivor contests, but a quick peek at the NFL Week 9 odds doesn’t showcase nearly as many mismatches.

To accompany our NFL Week 8 predictions and NFL best bets, here are our NFL survivor picks for Week 8.

Survivor picks NFL Week 8

4. Lions (vs. Raiders)

The Detroit Lions will have an extra day to sit on their 38-6 blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7, and I’m anticipating a lot of frustration to be taken out on the Las Vegas Raiders in front of the Ford Field faithful during the Monday Night Football bout.

Detroit played three of its past four games on the road, and it has its bye in Week 9. As a result, bank on the Lions rebounding from their reality-check loss to the Ravens with a strong 60-minute showing on Monday.

3. Dolphins (vs. Patriots)

The Miami Dolphins are the largest favorite on the board, and they should have their way with the 2-5 New England Patriots. My only worry is that Miami isn’t running out a who’s who of Pro Bowlers on defense, and the Dolphins only topped the Patriots 24-17 in the Week 2 matchup.

Still, the Dolphins should have pulled away for a double-digit win in Week 2, and I don’t think the Pats have the personnel to pull off the road upset. Plus, that ho-hum Miami defense could have some key cogs back Sunday.

2. Ravens (at Cardinals)

The Ravens would top my rankings if this wasn’t a road game. Baltimore is rounding into elite form on defense, and the Arizona Cardinals are quickly losing the competitive fight they showcased early.

Arizona has dropped four straight by double digits, and the Ravens are as complete a team as the Cards have faced since losing 35-16 to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4.

This one could be over quick.

1. Chargers (vs. Bears)

This is a must-win game for the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Chicago Bears aren’t going to sneak up on the Bolts on the road. Additionally, just look at the step down in class from hanging with the Dallas Cowboys and then playing the Kansas City Chiefs on the road the past two weeks.

I’d never blame anyone for not trusting the Chargers, but the Bears are bad news.
