Brandon Aiyuk broke out in a big way in 2023, leading the San Francisco 49ers in receptions (75) and receiving yards (1,342) en route to All-Pro honors. But he faces a tough matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 58.
Aiyuk has logged just six catches for 100 yards in his last two playoff games, even with a circus 51-yard reception against the Detroit Lions. Can he break through against Kansas City's elite secondary, or is he bound for another frustrating day?

Even with Deebo Samuel injured against the Green Bay Packers and the 49ers playing from behind for almost the entire game, Aiyuk still managed just three catches for 32 yards. Aside from the huge play in the NFC Championship Game, Aiyuk logged just two catches for 17 yards against the Lions.
The Chiefs rank fourth in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game. Perhaps the 49ers fall behind significantly early and that leads to a huge second half from Aiyuk. But even if the Chiefs win this running away, we hold more faith in Samuel, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey.

Brandon Aiyuk Under 4.5 receptions (-130 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Aiyuk has snatched just three catches in each of his last three games. He's been targeted 14 times during the postseason. But the quality of those targets has been low, and he's converting on less than half.
The wideout averaged 4.6 receptions per game during the regular season. He reeled in more than four catches in nine of his 16 games. But the Chiefs rank seventh in the league in completions allowed per outing. The 49ers can turn to so many weapons that it would be surprising to see Aiyuk post a dominant game at the expense of everyone else.
The price for this Under is expensive everywhere. Some of our best sportsbooks are offering it as short as -160. At -140 or more, the risk is too high when compared to the reward.

The Chiefs rank second in the league in yards allowed per completion, allowing just 8.9. Though Aiyuk has been a big-play receiver for the majority of the season, the edge needs to go to a Chiefs defense that's done a great job of avoiding significant plays all campaign.
Aiyuk has recorded at least one 25-plus-yard catch in 10 of his 18 games during 2023-24. When you take into account the defenses he’s faced, this is essentially a 50/50 play. It would be nice to get the price at +100, but it seems like -105 is the best any of our best sports betting apps will offer.
The 25-year-old is always a threat to haul in a huge reception. However, he hasn’t been particularly convincing against two middling secondaries during the postseason. Look for Kyle Shanahan to design safe plays for quarterback Brock Purdy to get in a rhythm, and Aiyuk will rarely be looked at for a long ball on Sunday.
