The New Orleans Saints visit the Houston Texans in Week 6, and our top Saints vs. Texans NFL player props are based on the NFL odds available across our best sports betting apps. We expect running backs Dameon Pierce and Alvin Kamara to leave their marks on the game.

The New Orleans Saints dismantled the New England Patriots 34-0 in Week 5. New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara turned his 22 carries into 80 rushing yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Derek Carr threw two touchdown passes.

Week 5 proved challenging for the Houston Texans as the Atlanta Falcons secured a 21-19 victory with a game-winning field goal as time expired. Nevertheless, Texans QB C.J. Stroud continued his impressive performance, maintaining a clean record without any interceptions and consistently passing for at least 242 yards in every game.

To accompany our NFL predictions for Week 6 and NFL best bets for Week 6, here are our best Saints vs. Texans NFL player props for Week 6 (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Saints vs. Texans NFL player props: Week 6

Dameon Pierce Over 48.5 rushing yards (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

The Texans have finally figured out how to use Pierce effectively. After failing to hit 40 rushing yards in each of his first three games, he has topped 65 rushing yards in each of his last two. In both of his good games, Pierce carried the ball at least 20 times. Pierce averages just 2.9 yards per carry, so he has to stay busy to hit this prop.

The Saints boast one of the NFL's best run defenses while allowing fewer than 100 yards per game. However, they’ve faced some of the worst offenses in football in their first five games. They’re about to face a team with a very confident young quarterback in C.J. Stroud that has finally figured out how to balance its offense.

If the Texans fall behind, Pierce has no chance of hitting this prop, as volume is the name of the game for him. But the Texans offense is playing really well right now, and as long as they stay close, we expect to see Pierce get close to 20 carries again. We’d take this number up to Over 50.5 yards.

Alvin Kamara Over 96.5 rushing + receiving yards (-115 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

Kamara has completely changed the look of the Saints’ offense. Though he has played only two games this season, he leads the team in rushing attempts and rushing yards, and he is third on the team in receptions.

Kamara has yet to top 100 scrimmage yards this season, but with 49 touches in two weeks, it’s just a matter of time. He is averaging 4.0 yards per carry and probably would have run for 100 yards last week had the Saints needed him in the fourth quarter.

The Texans are allowing 345.8 yards per game. This bodes well for a big game from Kamara. We don’t know if Kamara will get more touches in the passing or rushing attack, so we’re going with his combined Over. He could hit this number in just one category.

Rashid Shaheed Under 28.5 receiving yards (-105 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐

Shaheed’s place in the offense with Kamara back is a bit of a question mark. Last week, he was targeted just twice. He caught both those passes, but he managed just 28 yards. Twenty-five of them came on one play.

Shaheed is the clear No. 3 receiver behind Michael Thomas and Chris Olave and received fewer targets than Kendre Miller and Kamara last week.

He is averaging 15.2 yards per reception this season. However, he has less opportunity with the Saints’ offense at full strength. Taking his Over prop would mean depending on one huge play. We think at this price, it’s more valuable to expect him to continue to struggle to get involved in the offense.
