In our Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints parlay predictions based on the best NFL odds, correctly projecting the game status of Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence could lead to an advantage on the parlay odds.

Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence is uncertain to start for the Jaguars (4-2) in Thursday night’s matchup against the Saints (3-3) in New Orleans.

Dealing with a knee issue, could consideration of Lawrence’s status play into our decisions for the TNF same-game parlay?

SGP predictions for Jaguars vs. Saints

Jaguars +2 (-108) ⭐⭐⭐

While Lawrence’s questionable status for Thursday’s game has the Saints as slight home favorites, I’m not sure I’d be looking to fade the Jaguars regardless of the outcome at quarterback.

Jacksonville has impressed for sports bettors this season, logging a 4-2 ATS record to this point. The Jaguars have played three impressive games in a row, beating the Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, and Indianapolis Colts in succession and with relative ease. Jacksonville limited those three opponents to a combined 47 points, making strides defensively following an ugly showing against Houston.

Meanwhile, New Orleans has gone 1-4-1 against the spread with a combined scoring margin of minus-16 in its two home games. The Saints have been involved in two games already this season that were decided by one point, so while I consider the Jags plus-money moneyline odds to be an attractive play, we’ll stick with the spread for this SGP.

DraftKings lists the Jaguars +2 (-108) while FanDuel has the line at +1.5 (-105).

Under 40 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If Lawrence is confirmed as active later Thursday afternoon, this is a number that we likely see tick upward as game time approaches. But even if Lawrence plays, there’s every reason to believe we could be in for another Thursday night slog.

Although the Over is 3-3 for these short-week affairs, we’ve seen plenty of instances of offenses stuck in neutral on short weeks. We’ve also seen the Saints average just 18.2 points per game on the season while allowing just 16.0 PPG to their opponents. Their games have gone 0-6 on Overs in 2023.

No game involving the Saints this season has hit 40 total points. Especially considering the resurgent Jacksonville defense’s involvement against the mediocre Saints offense, I’m skeptical that Thursday’s contest would do so. That’s my feeling regardless of whether it’s Lawrence or C.J. Beathard starting for the Jaguars.

FanDuel lists the total at 40.5 while DraftKings has it at 40.

Alvin Kamara Over 4.5 receptions (+100) ⭐⭐⭐

The New Orleans offense has been bland all season long, but we’ve seen the Saints make a genuine effort to work running back Alvin Kamara back into a prominent role following his three-game suspension to open the year.

Kamara has garnered a whopping 75 touches in three games, making 23 receptions on 25 targets as a reliable outlet for Derek Carr out of the backfield. Although Kamara whiffed on this reception total once in three games, the game he fell short was the 34-0 outlier beatdown of the New England Patriots. In the two more competitive games, he piled up 13 and seven catches.

Anticipating Thursday night’s contest to be within a score or two in either direction, Kamara’s involvement should stay constant throughout the evening. Both DraftKings and FanDuel offer the same line on AK receptions, both with even-money odds.

Though we like FanDuel offering the hook to 40.5 on the game total, FD offers a lesser line than DraftKings on the Jacksonville spread. DraftKings also trumps FanDuel on total parlay odds, +650 to +567.
