Since quarterback Justin Herbert came into the league, five of the six meetings between these two teams have been decided by six or fewer points. The only one that wasn’t was a 17-point win for the Chargers. Last season, the Chiefs won both games by three points.
Kansas City QB Patrick Mahomes could be in line for a huge game against the worst pass defense in football, but the Chiefs have scored fewer than 20 points twice this season, and they struggle to put up big numbers on anyone. Against the bad Minnesota Vikings’ secondary, they managed just 27 points in a 27-20 victory.
