Chiefs vs. Eagles Prediction, Super Bowl Picks & Odds Today: Can Eagles Prevent 3-Peat?

Can the Philadelphia Eagles prevent history in the making? We don't think so, as we highlight some of the reasons the Kansas City Chiefs are the team of destiny.

Patrick Mahomes is set to make his fifth Super Bowl appearance, more than 19 NFL teams. And while there's more negativity surrounding this Kansas City Chiefs run than propelled at a Chiefs fan walking into a bar in Buffalo, you can't ignore his staggering achievement.

On Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, I expect Kansas City to find a way to aggravate millions further and win its straight Lombardi Trophy, which our Chiefs vs. Eagles prediction and Super Bowl picks outline.

Who will win the Super Bowl?

There's an aura about this team that makes it increasingly difficult to bet against. Everyone has reasons why the Chiefs have made it to their fifth Super Bowl in the last six years, some more nefarious than others.

No matter what they are, the Chiefs almost always find a way. Call it luck, favoritism, or an unparalleled ability to prove wrong the ever-growing contingent of naysayers. While only Chiefs Kingdom will shout it to the rafters, Andy Reid's squad - with each added scalp - feels more and more like the team of destiny.

Chiefs vs. Eagles spread prediction

In the AFC Championship, the Chiefs turned the ball over for the first time since Week 11, an eight-game streak broken by the Bills, who ironically were the last team to take it away from Mahomes and Co.

These stats put into perspective the tidal wave of momentum the Eagles are up against:

The Bills became the sixth team to score four or more touchdowns, win the turnover battle and lose a playoff game. Teams that satisfy those requirements in the playoffs are now 85-6. In addition, teams with at least four touchdowns and no turnovers are 21-2 in the playoffs, with Buffalo owning the only two setbacks.

The first such scenario occurred against the Chiefs in the 2021 divisional round.

Super Bowl 59 represents the fifth Big Game rematch between coaches. Those who won the first encounter were 4-0. Andy Reid won't care about that stat and maybe it doesn't matter. It certainly doesn't hurt their cause, though.

The Chiefs are quickly becoming one of the most loathed teams around, which I have no doubt will further fuel their burning desire to do what no other team has: win three straight Super Bowls. A winning $10 bet will profit $9.09.

Tuesday's best Super Bowl pick

Dallas Goedert Over 48.5 receiving yards

Best odds: -114 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 53.27%

Goedert hit the Over on this prop in three of four games since returning to the Eagles lineup in Week 17. And he missed it by just two yards against the Green Bay Packers in the wild-card round. Goedert had 85 receiving yards against the Commanders in the NFC Championship and is one of Jalen Hurts' most reliable quick-hit options.

The Chiefs love to blitz and allow the most receiving yards to opposing tight ends (67.16), setting up an even more favorable matchup for the bulky tight end. A winning $10 bet will profit $8.77.

Today's Super Bowl odds

Who is favored to win the Super Bowl?

Chiefs (-124 via FanDuel)

FanDuel's odds shortened from -132 to -124 in the 48 hours after the Super Bowl moneyline odds were released. At the time of writing, FanDuel offered the most competitive odds from our best Super Bowl betting sites

Those -124 odds imply a probability of 55.36%, and a $10 winning bet would profit $8.06. Meanwhile, DraftKings and BetMGM offer the worst price (-130), with Caesars and bet365 (-125) right in the middle.

DraftKings and BetMGM's -130 odds imply a 56.52% win probability, and a winning $10 bet there would profit $7.66. You can figure out the implied probability by using our odds calculator
