In today's NFL, it's uncommon to witness a rookie running back steal the spotlight from rookie quarterbacks, but that's precisely what Robinson accomplished this offseason. Despite the excitement surrounding numerous rookie QBs making their NFL debuts in Week 1, all attention is now focused on Robinson and the potential impact he could have on the Falcons.

The rookie takes over as the lead back for an offense that was an NFL third in rushing yards per game last year. Because of this, he’s been a consistent first-round pick in fantasy drafts all summer long. Can he live up to the hype or will he have some growing pains?

Bijan Robinson to score 2+ touchdowns (+600 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐

Carolina QB Bryce Young gets his first NFL road start against division rival, and he'll be without wide receiver DJ Chark Jr. Also, fellow WR Adam Thielen has an ankle injury, so his snaps may be limited. With very little veteran experience to help Young, he could seriously struggle in his first game, potentially paving the way for numerous short fields for the Falcons.

When the Falcons have the ball, they'll want to run it. Robinson will be the main guy in the rushing attack, and there's no reason he won’t take most of the goalline carries. The Panthers' rush defense isn’t bad, but if it's constantly facing short fields, it'll struggle to stop Robinson.

Robinson notched 20 touchdowns in his last year with the Texas Longhorns, including multiple TDs in seven contests. NFL defenses present a much bigger challenge, but he knows how to find the end zone, and Robinson is a workhorse.

Bijan Robinson Over 14.5 rush attempts (-135 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s totally irrelevant, but there's a chance people shy away from betting this Over after watching the Detroit Lions run the ball with rookie Jahmyr Gibbs just seven times Thursday night. With a proven back like Tyler Allgeier behind him, and a QB that could see some designed runs, will that keep Robinson from carrying the ball a lot in Week 1?

While it could, there'll be so much rushing volume it won't matter. The Falcons had a league-high 559 rushing attempts in 2022. If the game goes as expected, and Atlanta leads for most of it and dominates time of possession, then Robinson should clear this number by a significant margin.

We’re taking the bait. This feels like a pretty low number because of how much hype there is surrounding Robinson entering the season. Yet, with how the Falcons ran the ball last season, why wouldn’t Robinson hit this number?

Last year, the Falcons’ leading rusher went for 70 or more yards in nine of their 17 games. Most of the time Allgeier was that leading rusher, so there could be some concern that he gets more carries in Week 1 because of his experience.

But the Falcons very clearly stated that Robinson is the top guy. He'll  be the offense's focal point in this game, and even if the script takes an unexpected turn and the Panthers lead, the Falcons won't shy away from running the ball. Simply put: Robinson is set up for a huge Week 1.
