Falcons vs. Buccaneers prediction & best bet

Falcons +2.5 (-108 via bet365)

The Falcons enter this road trip against the Buccaneers with a ton of momentum, handing the 49ers their first loss of the season in a 29-20 win. Despite finishing with less than 300 yards of offense, Atlanta forced 4 turnovers, outscoring San Francisco 17-6 in the second half to improve to 3-4.

Baker Mayfield's return from a thumb injury unleashed the Buccaneers' offense in Week 7 against the Panthers. Even though he only threw 11 passes, Mayfield finished with a touchdown pass and balanced the offense, allowing RB Bucky Irving and the Buccaneers' run game to rack up 3 rushing touchdowns and over 250 rushing yards on 49 carries.

Atlanta's defense is going to force Mayfield to be a drop-back passer in a game that may have bad weather. Wind is up to 15 mph with a strong chance of rain, which plays in favor of the team with the best player, which is Falcons star RB Bijan Robinson.

Both of these teams have good run defenses. However, Robinson is a different caliber of running back, even compared to a quality player like Irving. Michael Penix Jr. has thrown for 3 touchdowns in consecutive starts for Atlanta, while Mayfield is still searching for a strong outing in 2026.

Take the points. Go to bet365 and bet on the Falcons +2.5 at -108 odds.

📡 SBR Edge: No Treasure Buried at Home

The Buccaneers have failed to cover the point spread in 9 consecutive home games.

Falcons take down Buccaneers to take lead in NFC South

Penix is going to have a field day against the Buccaneers' secondary in this matchup. Tampa Bay has held 6 straight opponents under 100 total rushing yards, so even with a stud like Robinson in the backfield, most of the production from the Falcons will be needed through the air.

Mayfield has had a rough season for the Buccaneers. During their dominant win over Carolina in his return, it was virtually all Tampa Bay's run game and defense that found the end zone. Atlanta is playing with confidence and has won its previous 2 road games in dominant fashion, which should continue in a favorable matchup against the Buccaneers.

Play to: Falcons -2.5

Score prediction: Falcons 30, Buccaneers 27
