Jared Goff NFL Player Props, Odds Week 8: Predictions for Raiders vs. Lions
The Detroit Lions host the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football in Week 8, and we make our best Jared Goff NFL player prop predictions based on the best NFL odds.
Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff was 33-for-53 passing for 284 yards in the Lions’ Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. His completions and attempts were season highs, as he was asked to throw the ball at an increased pace in a game that the Lions trailed from start to finish.
Goff has thrown seven touchdowns and two interceptions across three home games while completing at least 66.7% of his passes each time out.
To accompany our Raiders vs. Lions player props and Raiders-Lions prediction, here are our best Jared Goff NFL player prop predictions for the Las Vegas Raiders vs. Detroit Lions Week 8 matchup (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Jared Goff Under 264.5 passing yards (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐
Goff is excellent at home, but he also only does what is asked of him. In three home games this season, he’s gone over 264.5 yards just once, and that was in the game the Lions lost to the Seattle Seahawks. The Lions won the other two games comfortably, and Goff threw for fewer than 250 yards in both.
The Raiders’ pass defense is allowing just 187.4 yards per game. They’ve faced some bad quarterbacks, but those are still really good numbers seven games into the season.
While Goff will still have a solid night, we expect the Lions to take advantage of the Raiders’ weak run defense. They’re allowing 129 rushing yards per game. If the Lions get out to a lead in this game, as the spread suggests, then Goff may barely clear 200 yards.
Jared Goff Over 1.5 passing touchdowns (-150 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Goff has thrown at least two touchdown passes in 14 of his last 16 home games. This season, he has thrown seven touchdown passes at home, though he threw just one in the Lions’ 20-6 win over the Atlanta Falcons. However, this remains a five-star play because of how great he’s been at Ford Field.
The Raiders are allowing 1.3 touchdown passes per game. That’s tied for 15th in the NFL. But their numbers have been greatly aided by the quarterbacks they’ve faced in recent weeks. Their last three opponents were Chicago Bears QB Tyson Bagent, New England Patriots QB Mac Jones, and Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love. The three combined for just one touchdown pass.
Earlier this season, the Raiders allowed Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson, Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, and Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett to throw at least two touchdown passes against them in three consecutive weeks. At home, Goff may be better than all three of those quarterbacks. DraftKings is offering the best price by far. Some sportsbooks have the price listed at -175.
Jared Goff Under 23.5 pass completions (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
While Goff’s passing yards under is a three-star play, we’re even more confident in this Under. Goff has completed more than 23.5 passes in just three games this season. Two of those performances came in losses, while the other came in a game where the Lions essentially were without a running back.
When the Lions win, especially when they win easily, Goff completes 22 or fewer passes. When the Lions won four consecutive games by 14 or more points, he completed 22 or fewer passes in three of those four contests. He exceeded that number only in the game where the rushing attack was severely depleted.
The Lions aren’t likely to blow out the Raiders, but the offense should still put more of an emphasis on the run since that is what the Raiders’ weakness is. That, mixed with the fact that the Lions don’t throw the ball when they don’t need to, makes this a great play.
