The Vikings will be desperate to shake off a tough loss against the Ravens when they head to SoFi Stadium to face the Chargers. Find out why we like the home team in our Vikings and Chargers picks for Week 10.

The Los Angeles Chargers picked up a morale-boosting win against the Eagles in Week 9, which saw them return to the top of the AFC West with a 5-3 record. They are tied with the Las Vegas Raiders, with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos just behind them. The Vikings are 3-5 after suffering narrow defeats to the Dallas Cowboys and the Baltimore Ravens in their last two games. Another loss could kill off their playoff chances.

Here are my picks and predictions for the NFL Week 10 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Chargers (odds via BetMGM; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Vikings vs. Chargers Odds Analysis

The Chargers were initially 2.5-point favorites, and are now 3-point favorites to win this game at most sportsbooks. That is understandable, as both teams have been involved in a lot of tight clashes lately.

BetMGM is offering -115 on over 51.5 points, or +100 on over 53 points if you want to push it further. FanDuel has a market-leading -105 on under 53 points, while FOX Bet is offering +110 on under 51.5.

Vikings vs. Chargers Predictions

Chargers -3 (-110)

The Vikings will be missing cornerback Patrick Peterson and star safety Harrison Smith for this crucial trip to LA. They may also be a little demoralized after a 34-31 overtime defeat to the Ravens last weekend, as their inability to close games has cost them badly throughout the season.

The Chargers should be full of confidence after returning to winning ways in Philadelphia, but it needs to maintain the momentum to remain on top of a very competitive division.

Justin Herbert threw for 356 yards and two scores against the Eagles, and he could have a similarly productive game on Sunday with the injuries to the Vikings secondary. Mike Williams and Keenan Allen should cause plenty of problems for Minnesota, which is why we are backing Los Angeles to cover in our Vikings and Chargers picks.

Over 51.5 (-115)

The Chargers have allowed an average of 31 points in their last four games. That is partly down to their ineptitude against the run, as they've allowed the most total rushing yards this season. Dalvin Cook could therefore enjoy a very strong game for the Vikings. They should play with intensity and make this a competitive game in Southern California, as they cannot afford to slip to 3-6.

However, the resurgent Chargers have enough offensive firepower to outgun Minnesota in this game. Herbert should have plenty of time on the ball, allowing him to find his wide receivers for big gains.
