Cardinals vs. Cowboys Prediction: Week 8 Odds, Picks & Best Bet (Nov. 1)
Last Updated: October 31, 2026 9:30 AM EDT • 3 minute read X Social Google News Link
My best Cardinals vs. Cowboys prediction anticipates a high-scoring game on Sunday. The total is set at 54.5, yet these defenses have been so bad all season that I expect these two offenses to blow past this number. Below, I explain how the Cowboys' passing attack and the Cardinals' rushing attack are going to use huge plays to turn this contest into a shootout.
The Cowboys are favored by 6.5 points ahead of this 1 p.m. ET game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The game will air on FOX and stream on FOX One.

Cardinals vs. Cowboys prediction & best bet
Over 54.5 (-108 via DraftKings)
The Cardinals have the worst scoring defense in the league, allowing 29.7 points per game. They've allowed at least 30 points in five of their seven games, and now face the league's fifth-ranked scoring offense.
Yet, for as bad as the Cardinals' defense has been, the Cowboys' hasn't been much better. Dallas is allowing 25.7 points per game, giving up at least 20 in every game this season. Additionally, the Cowboys have allowed at least 28 points three times.
Though the status of Jeremiyah Love is in question, the Cardinals should still find room to run against the league's 31st-ranked run defense. Bam Knight is averaging 6.4 yards per carry, and he racked up 48 yards on just seven carries last week. Tyler Allgeier has been much less effective, but he should find more success than usual against a defense allowing 4.7 yards per carry.
📡 SBR Edge: Red-zone opportunities will be present
These are two of the worst red-zone defenses in the league, as the Cardinals are allowing touchdowns on 69.57% of attempts, and the Cowboys are allowing touchdowns 70.37% of the time.
Dak Prescott is set for a massive game
Prescott ranks fifth in the league with 1,851 passing yards. He's thrown for at least 258 yards in five of his seven games this season, surpassing 300 yards twice. Prescott has thrown multiple interceptions in two of his last three games, but there's no reason to doubt him on Sunday.
The Cardinals are allowing 7.9 yards per pass attempt, which ranks second-worst in the league. They also have just three interceptions this season. I'm expecting Prescott to play a clean game and connect with CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens for plenty of big plays.
And if the Cowboys build a large lead, they'll still pick up huge chunk plays on the ground, as the Cardinals are allowing 4.7 yards per carry.
