The Baltimore Ravens and Washington Commanders get one last tune-up on Saturday afternoon in a preseason Week 3 matchup. Our Ravens vs. Commanders prediction debates how much stock to put into Baltimore’s 2-0 start and Washington’s 0-2 start to the preseason.

Washington has a lot of things working against it in this matchup, starting with the fact that it is facing a team that won both its preseason games by a combined 26 points, while it owns a minus-44 point differential through the first two weeks. The Commanders were also in the national spotlight as the lone NFL preseason game on Monday, and they have two fewer days to prepare.

But the fact that this line has not budged off its opening number of +2.5 suggests oddsmakers are comfortable needing to root for the underdogs.

If Baltimore treats this game in any way like it did the third week of the preseason last year, losing 30-7 to the Green Bay Packers while not playing any starters, there is a way for a Washington team desperate to find any momentum before its first regular-season game to cover.

No team has allowed more points through the first two weeks of the preseason than the Commanders, and defensive-minded head coach Dan Quinn cannot be happy about the 79 points let up thus far.

One way to try to hide those deficiencies is to continue to have success running the football. Washington rushed for 106 yards on its first two drives last week, including a 27-yard score by Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who should again see playing time this week.

For Baltimore, kicking field goals is not the easiest path to cashing an Over, but the Ravens have to feel good about Tyler Loop making 5-of-6 field goals in place of former kicker Justin Tucker.
