The Los Angeles Rams need to keep winning to keep the pressure on the unbeaten Arizona Cardinals at the top of the NFC West.
According to the NFL odds, they come into this game against the Giants as double-digit favorites on the spread, the largest they’ve been favored by on the road since 2018 when they were 14 point faves when covering against the Cardinals.
Los Angeles Rams vs. New York Giants

How Does This Game Look?
The main story of this game is the health of the Giants. They are definitely without Saquon Barkley who suffered a freak ankle injury when the ball was dead last weekend, it seems like a sprain but it blew up and means Devontae Booker will be the main RB this week. I would be amazed if Daniel Jones plays after concussing himself on a run last week, when players get up stumbling like that it tends to be a multi-week affair.
They lost Kenny Golladay mid-game as well to add to the likes of Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton on the injury list and Kadarius Toney got himself ejected from the game late on, so it wouldn’t be a total shock to see the league punish his punch with a suspension although I think he’ll avoid that.
So the Giants are probably without their starting QB, RB and top 3 WRs. That’s far from ideal. Mike Glennon (probably) gets the start at QB and that’s not going to inspire anyone although he’s a veteran and should know how to not do anything too stupid, facing Aaron Donald though is enough to worry even the most experienced QB.
Kadarius Toney had a troubled summer and obviously has a spark to him as shown by the altercation at the end of the game but he has looked great in the last two weeks with 78 yards vs. the Saints and 189 from 10 receptions this week, his so quick in short spaces that giving him half a yard quickly turns into a big gain. It may well be him, Evan Engram and John Ross trying to move the ball this week.
Will the Rams Throw This Away?
It should be very tough for the Rams to mess this one up. They’re coming off long rest after beating the Seahawks fairly comfortably last Thursday night. That game started poorly for Matthew Stafford but half-time alterations worked perfectly and they blew them away in the second half.
Robert Woods was the squeaky wheel who got the grease with a huge 150 yards from 12 receptions as Cooper Kupp did the supporting role clearing out space for Woods to get some easy gains. Kupp still finished with 92 yards, but no score for the second game running, I would imagine that will change here. Desean Jacksons and Van Jefferson add a bit of deep threat.
The run game has been good and they have said they want it to be more of a split between Henderson and Michel who combined for 120 yards and a TD each last week.
It’s a Tough Ask, Will the Rams Cover It?
The annoying thing about this line is that I can’t possibly bet on the Giants with the injuries they’ve got all over the offense, but do I think the Rams cover such a high line on the road?
To prove their place as 4th favorite for the Superbowl they need to impress. I don’t like taking double-digit favorites at home, let alone on the other side of the country regardless of the situation the teams find themselves in.
So I’m going to be hitting the total. I don’t think the Giants will be scoring many points, I think the biggest threat to the over is defensive scores from the Rams so, for my NFL pick, I’ve got to be going under the 47.5 that’s available.
NFL Pick: Total Under 47.5 (-107)
