It's a crucial matchup for both teams when the Miami Dolphins travel to Nashville to play the Tennessee Titans. We give you all the best betting tips with our Dolphins-Titans picks.

Early this season, the Tennessee Titans looked like the best team in the AFC and the Miami Dolphins looked like one of the worst. Between injuries to key players and the resurgence of Miami’s defense, these teams are both in the NFL Playoff hunt with nothing guaranteed. The Titans (9-6 against the spread) should make the NFL Playoffs regardless of this game, but they need a win if they want to secure the AFC South title.

The Miami Dolphins (8-6-1 ATS) essentially need to win out to make the NFL Playoffs. Winners of seven straight, they've limited their opponents to 10 or fewer points in five of those victories.

Here are my picks and predictions for the NFL Week 17 matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans (odds via FanDuel; pick confidence based on a one-to-five-star scale).

Dolphins vs. Titans Odds Analysis

When this line opened, Tennessee was a 4-point favorite. That has now shifted half a point in favor of Miami. 81% of the money is on the Titans to cover.

The total opened at 40.5 and has dropped a full point since then. 39.5 is pretty low for an NFL game, but neither team is known for elite offensive production especially in recent weeks.

Dolphins vs. Titans Predictions

Dolphins +3.5 (-115)

Miami’s win streak can be written off to the level of talent they’ve faced, but it’s still hard to win seven straight games. In that streak, the Dolphins managed to beat the Baltimore Ravens with a healthy Lamar Jackson as well.

The Dolphins have become one of the best pass-rushing teams in the NFL, and that will matter against Tennessee’s offensive line. Without Derrick Henry to dictate the pace, the Titans have had to rely on Tannehill’s arm to win games. He’s capable, but that gets harder if the Fins can get pressure.

The Dolphins have improved as a rushing team thanks to the addition of Duke Johnson. Still, the offense relies on Tua Tagovailoa's ability to make smart decisions. With Jaylen Waddle living up to the hype, the Dolphins have the pieces to score on long drives. The Dolphins are red-hot, and that is why I like them to cover and potentially win outright even with the short week.

Under 39.5 (-112)

Miami’s offense is capable of winning with the deep ball on occasion, but they mostly win with field position and long drives. They rank 31st and 25th in the league in explosive run and pass plays. Tennessee has a solid offense, but all statistics have dropped since losing Derrick Henry.

Tua’s performance will dictate the Over/Under. If he plays out of his mind, the Over will hit. If he makes uncharacteristic mistakes with the football to give Tennessee easy starting field position, the Over will hit. But if he plays his normal style of game, the Under has a great chance.

Neither team has an overly explosive offense. A total this small still needs one team to go off, and I don’t see that happening. Expect solid red-zone defense and a low-scoring affair.
