Promising quarterbacks Justin Herbert and Jalen Hurts will go head-to-head when the Los Angeles Chargers take on the Eagles in Philadelphia this weekend. Check out our Chargers and Eagles picks to see who will come out on top.

The Chargers will aim to snap a two-game losing streak when they head into battle against a rejuvenated Eagles team in Week 9. The Birds will be full of confidence after a blowout victory over the Detroit Lions last weekend, but they will face a much sterner test of their mettle in this game.

Here are my picks and predictions for the NFL Week 9 matchup between the Chargers and the Eagles. (Odds via Unibet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5 star scale).

Chargers vs. Eagles Predictions

Chargers -2.5 (-109) ??

The Eagles picked up their third win of the season when they ripped the Lions to shreds in Detroit last weekend. However, it is worth noting that all three of their wins came on the road against weak teams. They have a dreadful home record this season and they have also struggled when they have come up against serious contenders.

The Chargers may have lost to the Baltimore Ravens and the New England Patriots in their last two games, but they remain serious contenders. It is hard to imagine this team losing three in a row, and it certainly has the offensive pieces to hurt the Birds in this game.

Though they allow just 220 yards through the air per game, the Eagles' secondary can be beaten, and Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, and Jared Cook should enjoy a profitable trip to Philly.

The Eagles still feel like a team in rebuilding mode, while the Chargers are closer to the finished article. They will be highly motivated to end their losing streak and they should cover in this game.

Over 50 (-110) ????

This has the potential to develop into a high-scoring game. The weather is forecast to be bright and dry, making it a glorious occasion for Herbert and Co. to wreak havoc. Tom Brady and Derek Carr picked apart the Philadelphia defense, and Herbert should follow suit.

Yet the Eagles will also be dangerous in this game. The Chargers' defense is also very stingy when it comes to allowing passing yards, but it has allowed more rushing yards per game than any other team in the league.

The Eagles' running game was on point against the Lions and this talented collection of running backs should pick up plenty of yards on the ground.

Chargers to win & Over 50 (+225) ??

Unibet is offering +225 on the Chargers to win this game and both teams to combine for more than 50 points. It has all the hallmarks of an open, high-scoring affair, and the Chargers are the better team, so it would not be surprising to see them prevail.

Another option would be the fourth quarter to be the highest-scoring quarter at +220 with FanDuel. Hurts has a tendency to mount a furious fourth-quarter comeback if his team is losing.
