The New Orleans Saints open the 2023 campaign as favorites over the Tennessee Titans. Check out our top Titans vs. Saints predictions based on the best NFL odds.

This offseason, the Saints acquired Derek Carr, who will immediately take over as the team’s starting quarterback this season. He leads an offense that includes wide receivers Chris Olave and Michael Thomas, as well as running back Jamaal Williams, who will start in place of the suspended Alvin Kamara.

The Titans aim to maintain their health throughout the 2023 season after enduring a seven-game losing streak to close out 2022. Despite that slump, they had a chance to win the AFC South on the final weekend of the season. With Ryan Tannehill returning as the quarterback, the team also adds a new weapon in DeAndre Hopkins.

Here is our best Titans vs. Saints prediction (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Both of these teams really struggled offensively in 2022. The Titans averaged just 17.5 points per game, while the Saints weren’t much better at 19.4. With inconsistent quarterback play and numerous injuries, the teams had to rely on their defenses to remain in the postseason conversation until Week 18.

But this season should be different for both teams. Carr is a definite improvement for the Saints, and if Tannehill is healthy, the Titans offense should score more than 20 points per game.

Yet, with all that being said, it seems like bettors are really overvaluing these offenses. Carr threw 14 interceptions in 15 games last season, after throwing 14 in 17 games the year before. While he can be explosive, these mistakes will be detrimental to this game’s Over. Additionally, Derrick Henry led the NFL in rushing attempts last season. The Titans will lean on him in this game, which is going to drain the clock and slow the pace down.

Also remember, the Saints will be without Kamara for the first three weeks, which is a huge loss for the offense. Since these two teams are evenly matched on paper, we recommend you avoid the spread and back the defenses and the Under in this one.

There is a bit of disagreement between the five major sportsbooks regarding this line. Both FanDuel and BetMGM have the number listed at 41.5, while DraftKings and bet365 are offering 41. Meanwhile, Caesars is a true outlier showing this number at 40.5.

Since BetMGM and FanDuel are each offering the same total for the same price, you can’t go wrong at either sportsbook. However, we recommend wagering at BetMGM, because we believe the Titans could win this game, and they’re offering a better moneyline for parlay purposes.

Titans vs. Saints odds analysis

The total opened at 41.5, and it has either stayed put or gone down despite 60% of wagers backing the Over. The public will likely continue to back the Over, but it doesn’t seem like that is going to affect what oddsmakers do. That being said, we don’t expect this number to get into the 30s before kickoff.

The Saints opened as three-point favorites, and the spread has stayed there since. Roughly 55% of bettors are backing the Saints, which isn’t enough to expect any movement on this line. With this number sitting right at the key number, you could benefit from waiting to see if the spread moves a half-point in the direction that you’re backing.
