After back-to-back 3-14 seasons and a second coaching change in three years, the Tennessee Titans hold the No. 4 pick and face one of the most debated selections in the draft - whether to invest premium capital in a running back or continue building around second-year quarterback Cam Ward with defensive reinforcements under new head coach Robert Saleh.
As part of our NFL draft predictions for every team, we break down the Titans' full draft picks, biggest team needs, ideal prospect fits, mock draft projections, and our prediction for which player Tennessee will draft in the first round, which begins Thursday at 8 p.m. ET live on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.

🆘 Titans team needs entering draft
We break down every team's projected NFL win totals with our best Over/Under picks by division.
- Team needs: OL, EDGE, WR, RB, LB
- Key additions: John Franklin-Myers (DL), Jermaine Johnson II (EDGE, via trade), Wan'Dale Robinson (WR), Alontae Taylor (CB), Cordell Volson (OG)
- Key departures: T'Vondre Sweat (DT, Jets via trade), L'Jarius Sneed (CB), Chigoziem Okonkwo (TE, Commanders), Kevin Zeitler (OG)
The Titans have been one of the most active teams in free agency, adding Franklin-Myers and Johnson to give Saleh the pass-rush depth he covets after his 49ers defense produced a league-low 20 sacks in his final season there. But the offensive line still needs work, particularly at center and right guard, if Ward is going to take the leap Tennessee needs from him in Year 2. The skill-position group could use another explosive weapon, too - the Titans ranked 30th in yards per play last season (4.8).
🏈 Titans draft prospect fits
I asked NFL draft expert Rob Paul to pick the Titans' best prospect fit in a dream scenario, their safest pick, and their best upside pick for Thursday:
| Pick type | No. 4 pick | Grade | Paul's take |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🌟 Dream pick | Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame | 7.40 | This is the rare draft where it's easy to justify taking a running back top five, both because of how weak this class is and because Love is one of the few blue chip players with his home run hitting ability and pass catching upside |
| 🛡️ Safe pick | Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State | 7.40 | If Robert Saleh wants to find his Fred Warner in Tennessee, the Titans might swing on the physically imposing Sonny Styles, who checks every box from athleticism to leadership to production with his instincts and take-on skills |
| 🚀 Upside pick | David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech | 7.30 | If Bailey is on the board when Tennessee picks, he might offer the most upside in terms of positional value, and the All-American is as explosive as any pass rusher in the draft, and he would give Saleh a cornerstone to build around |

📝 Titans mock draft consensus picks
I went through the latest mock drafts from other top experts across the industry and gathered their predictions for the Titans' first pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Here's who they expect Tennessee to draft at No. 4:
| Source | Pick |
|---|---|
| Mel Kiper (ESPN) | Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame |
| Chad Reuter (NFL.com) | Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame |
| Mike Renner (CBS) | Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame |
| Todd McShay (The Ringer) | Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame |
| Dane Brugler (The Athletic) | David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech |
| Nate Tice (Yahoo) | Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State |
Most draftniks will say to never draft a running back with a top-five pick, but four of the six expert mock drafts we surveyed think the Titans will do exactly that with Notre Dame's Jeremiyah Love among the best prospects in a weak class overall. Only The Athletic's Dane Brugler and Yahoo's Nate Tice see Tennessee going a different route, with Brugler opting for Texas Tech pass-rusher David Bailey and Tice projecting Ohio State's Sonny Styles to land at No. 4.
🔮 Titans draft prediction 2026
See Rob Paul's expert NFL mock draft for projections and analysis of all 32 first-round picks.
Paul's pick at No. 4: Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame
- Pro comparison: Edgerrin James
- Measurables: 6'0" | 212 lbs | 20 years old | RAS: N/A
Arguably the best pure football player in the class, Jeremiyah Love is too talented to slide out of the top five in a weak draft, despite playing a devalued position. New Tennessee Titans head coach Robert Saleh comes from the San Francisco 49ers, where he saw the impact of Christian McCaffrey. Love's burst (4.36 40-yard dash) and contact balance (4.5 yards per carry after contact) make him a home run threat on every touch. He's also the best pass-catching back in the class.
