The Philadelphia Eagles followed a Super Bowl victory with an 11-6 record and frustrating exit in the wild-card round, but now Howie Roseman enters draft week armed with the No. 23 pick to improve a talented but aging roster in need of reinforcements on defense and along the offensive line - or possibly receiver if star A.J. Brown is dealt on draft night.

As part of our NFL draft predictions for every team, we break down the Eagles' full draft picks, biggest team needs, ideal prospect fits, mock draft projections, and our prediction for which player Philadelphia will draft in the first round, which begins Thursday at 8 p.m. ET live on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.

🆘 Eagles team needs entering draft

We break down every team's projected NFL win totals with our best Over/Under picks by division.

  • Team needs: EDGE, S, OL, WR, TE
  • Key additions: Marquise Brown (WR), Dontayvion Wicks (WR, via trade), Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (EDGE), Jonathan Jones (CB)
  • Key departures: Reed Blankenship (S, Texans), Jaelan Phillips (EDGE, Panthers), Brandon Graham (EDGE, retiring), Jahan Dotson (WR, Falcons), Sydney Brown (S, Falcons via trade)

The Eagles' edge rush needs another impact player alongside Nolan Smith and Jalyx Hunt, especially after losing Phillips and Graham. Safety is also a pressing need after Blankenship left and Brown was traded, and it's worth investing in the right player at that spot in Vic Fangio's defense. Philly needs to start planning for life after Lane Johnson at right tackle and possibly the end of an era for Brown at receiver, too.

🏈 Eagles draft prospect fits

I asked NFL draft expert Rob Paul to pick the Eagles' best prospect fit in a dream scenario, their safest pick, and their best upside pick for Thursday:

Pick type No. 23 pick Grade Paul's take
🌟 Dream pick Dillon Thieneman, SAF, Oregon 7.15 It's not the Eagles' biggest need in the world, but imagine inserting Thieneman on the back end of this defense as the Reed Blankenship replacement - he would thrive with his instincts, range, and physicality
🛡️ Safe pick Blake Miller, OT, Clemson 7.05 Howie Roseman loves addressing the trenches, and by taking Miller, he would land one of the highest floor players in the draft and the team's eventual Lane Johnson replacement
🚀 Upside pick Kadyn Proctor, OL, Alabama 7.10 Philadelphia is the perfect landing spot for Proctor, a physical freak at his size, where he could potentially start at guard before shifting to right tackle when Johnson moves on

📝 Eagles mock draft consensus picks

I went through the latest mock drafts from other top experts across the industry and gathered their predictions for the Eagles' first pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Here's who they expect Philadelphia to draft at No. 23:

Source Pick
Mel Kiper (ESPN) Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
Chad Reuter (NFL.com) Omar Cooper Jr., WR, Indiana
Mike Renner (CBS) Max Iheanachor, OT, Arizona State
Todd McShay (The Ringer) Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia
Dane Brugler (The Athletic) Kadyn Proctor, OT, Alabama
Charles McDonald (Yahoo) Blake Miller, OT, Clemson

Five of the six mocks we surveyed have the Eagles taking an offensive lineman, the strongest consensus for any NFC East team's pick. The only debate is which one: Clemson's Blake Miller leads with two projections, followed by Alabama's Kadyn Proctor, Arizona State's Max Iheanachor, and Georgia's Monroe Freeling. Paul expects an O-lineman, too, but not one projected by other draftniks.

🔮 Eagles draft prediction 2026

See Rob Paul's expert NFL mock draft for projections and analysis of all 32 first-round picks.

Paul's pick at No. 23: Max Iheanachor, OT, Arizona State

  • Pro comparison: Taylor Moton
  • Measurables: 6'6" | 321 lbs | 22 years old | RAS: 9.86

When in doubt, Howie Roseman drafts athletic trench players. This time around, the Eagles can prepare for life after Lane Johnson by drafting another freaky athlete who began his career at the JUCO level and came late to playing offensive line. Max Iheanachor is this year's "dancing bear," with the native of Nigeria growing up playing soccer before eventually hitting the gridiron in 2021. Despite being new to the sport, his sweet feet and dominant Senior Bowl have propelled him up the board.
