Without a first-round pick after sending it to Dallas in the Micah Parsons trade, the Green Bay Packers enter draft week picking at No. 52 in Round 2 and looking to fill gaps at cornerback and along the defensive line behind a roster that went 9-7-1 and has playoff aspirations in 2026.

As part of our NFL draft predictions for every team, we break down the Packers' full draft picks, biggest team needs, ideal prospect fits, mock draft projections, and our prediction for which player Green Bay will draft with their first pick ahead of the first round, which begins Thursday at 8 p.m. ET live on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.

🆘 Packers team needs entering draft

We break down every team's projected NFL win totals with our best Over/Under picks by division.

  • Team needs: EDGE, DL, OL, CB, RB
  • Key additions: Javon Hargrave (DT), Zaire Franklin (LB, via trade), Benjamin St-Juste (CB), Skyy Moore (WR)
  • Key departures: Rashan Gary (EDGE, Cowboys via trade), Trevon Diggs (CB), Elgton Jenkins (OG, Browns), Rasheed Walker (OT, Panthers), Emanuel Wilson (RB, Seahawks)

Trading Gary to Dallas leaves the edge thinner opposite Parsons, and cornerback is a real concern after Diggs' departure. The offensive line lost two starters in Jenkins and Walker, too. Hargrave adds interior presence on defense, and Franklin bolsters the linebacker corps, but GM Brian Gutekunst still needs to find a corner and more depth up front with limited draft capital.

🏈 Packers draft prospect fits

I asked NFL draft expert Rob Paul to pick the Packers' best prospect fit in a dream scenario, their safest pick, and their best upside pick:

Pick type No. 52 pick Grade Paul's take
🌟 Dream pick Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson 7.05 Despite his NFL bloodlines, production, feistiness, and instincts, Terrell could slide deep into the second round due to his poor testing numbers, and if he does, the Packers should bet on him with their need at corner
🛡️ Safe pick Gabe Jacas, EDGE, Illinois 7.0 If Green Bay wants to add a high-motor, heavy-handed, violent pass rusher opposite Micah Parsons, Jacas is the ideal fit - he's like a twitched up wrecking ball
🚀 Upside pick Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina 7.05 One of the best athletes in the draft, Cisse's explosiveness shows up in man coverage where he can mirror and match wide receivers downfield, and it's a bonus that he's a willing tackler

📝 Packers mock draft consensus picks

I went through the latest mock drafts from other top experts across the industry and gathered their predictions for the Packers' first pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Because Green Bay does not have a first-round pick, these projections come from the four expert mocks that extend into Round 2:

Source Pick
Mel Kiper (ESPN) Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson
Chad Reuter (NFL.com) Malik Muhammad, CB, Texas
Mike Renner (CBS) Christen Miller, DL, Georgia
Dane Brugler (The Athletic) Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State

Three of four mocks have the Packers addressing their two biggest defensive needs - cornerback (Terrell and Muhammad) or edge rusher (Dennis-Sutton). Kiper's Terrell projection matches Paul's dream pick exactly. Only Renner goes interior defensive line with Georgia's Christen Miller, but Paul ultimately projects a different corner for Green Bay in his mock.

🔮 Packers draft prediction 2026

See Rob Paul's expert NFL mock draft for projections and analysis of all 32 first-round picks.

Paul's pick at No. 52: Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina

  • Pro comparison: Alontae Taylor
  • Measurables: 6'0" | 189 lbs | 20 years old | RAS: 9.24

If the Packers can figure out their cornerback room, they should have one of the better defenses in the NFL once again this season. Without a first-round pick, it would make sense for GM Brian Gutekunst to swing on a high upside cornerback like Brandon Cisse. One of the top athletes (93rd percentile vertical and 91st percentile broad) and youngest players in the draft, Cisse excels in man coverage, where he can lean on his speed to stay attached to receivers.
