Last Updated: April 20, 2026 7:58 PM EDT • 5 minute read X Social Google News Link
Fresh off Matthew Stafford's MVP season, the Los Angeles Rams hold the No. 13 pick (via Atlanta) and have already made a massive secondary investment by trading for Trent McDuffie and signing Jaylen Watson - now Les Snead and Sean McVay need to find a young receiver to develop behind the aging Davante Adams and give Stafford's eventual successor a long-term weapon.
As part of our NFL draft predictions for every team, we break down the Rams' full draft picks, biggest team needs, ideal prospect fits, mock draft projections, and our prediction for which player Los Angeles will draft in the first round, which begins Thursday at 8 p.m. ET live on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.

🆘 Rams team needs entering draft
We break down every team's projected NFL win totals with our best Over/Under picks by division.
- Team needs: WR, OL, CB, EDGE, QB
- Key additions: Trent McDuffie (CB, via trade), Jaylen Watson (CB), Kamren Curl (S), Tyler Higbee (TE, re-signed)
- Key departures: Rob Havenstein (OT, retiring), Darious Williams (CB, retiring), Cobie Durant (CB, Cowboys), Derion Kendrick (CB, Cowboys), Roger McCreary (CB, Lions), D.J. Humphries (OT)
The Rams boast one of the league's best receiver duos in Puka Nacua and Adams, but Adams is 33 and in the final year of his deal - adding a young receiver who can grow in McVay's system is a priority before the window shifts. The offensive line lost both Havenstein and Humphries at tackle, and while Stafford is coming off an MVP year, there's no viable backup or succession plan behind him. The secondary has been completely rebuilt through the McDuffie trade and Watson signing, making corner far less of a draft priority than it was a month ago.
🏈 Rams draft prospect fits
I asked NFL draft expert Rob Paul to pick the Rams' best prospect fit in a dream scenario, their safest pick, and their best upside pick for Thursday:
| Pick type | No. 13 pick | Grade | Paul's take |
|---|---|---|---|
| 🌟 Dream pick | Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State | 7.20 | Tyson would be a perfect fit in McVay's offense with his deep release package and start-stop ability making him a devastating route runner who can eventually take over as the No. 1 option |
| 🛡️ Safe pick | KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M | 7.20 | The most electric of the receiver options for the Rams, Concepcion is a dynamic route runner with the speed to win vertically and the lateral explosion to create after the catch |
| 🚀 Upside pick | Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah | 7.05 | If the Rams want to address the offensive line instead, Lomu is a top-notch athlete with light feet and lateral quickness who could develop behind whoever they start at tackle in 2026 |

📝 Rams mock draft consensus picks
I went through the latest mock drafts from other top experts across the industry and gathered their predictions for the Rams' first pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Here's who they expect Los Angeles to draft at No. 13:
| Source | Pick |
| Mel Kiper (ESPN) | KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M |
| Chad Reuter (NFL.com) | Makai Lemon, WR, USC |
| Mike Renner (CBS) | Omar Cooper Jr., WR, Indiana |
| Todd McShay (The Ringer) | KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M |
| Dane Brugler (The Athletic) | Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State |
| Charles McDonald (Yahoo) | Makai Lemon, WR, USC |
All six mocks have the Rams taking a wide receiver at No. 13 - the most unanimous position call for any first-round pick in the entire draft. Texas A&M's KC Concepcion and USC's Makai Lemon each appear twice, while Brugler matches Paul's dream pick in Arizona State's Jordyn Tyson. Paul's mock has the Rams trading back two spots and still landing their receiver.
🔮 Rams draft prediction 2026
See Rob Paul's expert NFL mock draft for projections and analysis of all 32 first-round picks.
Paul's pick at No. 15 (traded back from No. 13): KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M
- Pro comparison: Zay Flowers
- Measurables: 6'0" | 196 lbs | 21 years old | RAS: N/A
If the Rams want to come out of the first round with a wide receiver, they will. Snead and McVay have options with Jordyn Tyson, Omar Cooper Jr., and KC Concepcion, but if they want to swing for the most electric of the three, it has to be Concepcion. The Texas A&M star is a dynamic route runner with the speed to win vertically and the lateral explosion to create after the catch - he's also an elite punt returner. While his ball skills could use improvement, drops are an overrated evaluation metric and shouldn't dissuade Los Angeles from taking a player with such a high ceiling.
Trade specifics: Rams trade pick No. 13 (Round 1) to Buccaneers for picks No. 15 (Round 1) and No. 155 (Round 5).
