As defending Super Bowl champions picking last in the first round, the Seattle Seahawks hold the No. 32 pick and need to replace key contributors who left in free agency - most notably running back Kenneth Walker III and edge rusher Boye Mafe - while keeping Mike Macdonald's championship defense stocked with talent.

As part of our NFL draft predictions for every team, we break down the Seahawks' full draft picks, biggest team needs, ideal prospect fits, mock draft projections, and our prediction for which player Seattle will draft in the first round, which begins Thursday at 8 p.m. ET live on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network.

🆘 Seahawks team needs entering draft

We break down every team's projected NFL win totals with our best Over/Under picks by division.

  • Team needs: RB, EDGE, CB, OL, S
  • Key additions: Rashid Shaheed (WR, re-signed), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR, extension), Emanuel Wilson (RB), Joshua Jobe (CB), D'Anthony Bell (S)
  • Key departures: Kenneth Walker III (RB, Chiefs), Boye Mafe (EDGE, Bengals), Tariq Woolen (CB, Eagles), Coby Bryant (S, Bears)

Running back is the most obvious need after Walker left for Kansas City, though the most impactful loss might be Mafe off the edge - Seattle needs another pass-rush threat to maintain the pressure that fueled its Super Bowl run. Woolen's departure to Philadelphia thins out a cornerback room that was a strength during the playoffs, and Bryant's move to Chicago leaves a gap at safety.

🏈 Seahawks draft prospect fits

I asked NFL draft expert Rob Paul to pick the Seahawks' best prospect fit in a dream scenario, their safest pick, and their best upside pick for Thursday:

Pick type No. 32 pick Grade Paul's take
🌟 Dream pick TJ Parker, EDGE, Clemson 7.10 A perfect fit for the Seahawks' deep defensive line rotation, Parker's power, edge-setting, and motor make him an ideal Boye Mafe replacement with Pro Bowl potential if he can develop his pass-rush moves
🛡️ Safe pick Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah 7.05 If Lomu falls this far, the Seahawks should jump at the chance to add a top-notch athlete with light feet and lateral quickness who can develop into a starter on the offensive line
🚀 Upside pick Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame 7.40 It's hard to justify taking a running back at the end of the first round, but Love is an elite talent who would instantly replace Walker's production with his burst and pass-catching ability

📝 Seahawks mock draft consensus picks

I went through the latest mock drafts from other top experts across the industry and gathered their predictions for the Seahawks' first pick in the 2026 NFL draft. Here's who they expect Seattle to draft at No. 32:

Source Pick
Mel Kiper (ESPN) Jadarian Price, RB, Notre Dame
Chad Reuter (NFL.com) Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M
Mike Renner (CBS) Jadarian Price, RB, Notre Dame
Todd McShay (The Ringer) TJ Parker, EDGE, Clemson
Dane Brugler (The Athletic) Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee
Nate Tice (Yahoo) Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame

Three of the six mocks we surveyed project the Seahawks to draft a running back to replace Walker, though the experts are split on which one - Notre Dame's Jadarian Price appears twice while Yahoo's Nate Tice has Jeremiyah Love falling to the end of the first round. Two others go edge rusher with Clemson's TJ Parker (McShay's pick and Paul's dream scenario) and Texas A&M's Cashius Howell, while Brugler projects the defending champions to take Tennessee's Colton Hood to replace Woolen at cornerback.

🔮 Seahawks draft prediction 2026

See Rob Paul's expert NFL mock draft for projections and analysis of all 32 first-round picks.

Paul's pick at No. 32: TJ Parker, EDGE, Clemson

  • Pro comparison: George Karlaftis
  • Measurables: 6'3" | 263 lbs | 21 years old | RAS: 9.39

The most obvious need for the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks is at running back, but it's hard to justify taking one here. Instead, GM John Schneider continues adding to Mike Macdonald's defense with a Boye Mafe replacement. TJ Parker is a perfect fit for the Seahawks' deep D-line rotation, with his power, edge-setting, and motor. If he can develop his pass rush moves, there's Pro Bowl potential for Parker on this defense.
