With Aaron Rodgers out for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon, the New York Jets have committed – for now – to roll with Zach Wilson as the starting QB. But they'll almost certainly add a veteran; who will it be? James Bisson shares his thoughts along with the latest odds for the New York Jets' next quarterback.

The New York Jets' Super Bowl odds are in freefall after Monday's freak injury to QB Aaron Rogers in a 22-16 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Several other Jets-focused NFL odds have plummeted at the majority of the best sportsbooks, but fret not, fans and bettors alike: Help should be on the way!

Here's a look at the latest odds on who the Jets will add to their undermanned QB room:

New York Jets next quarterback pick: Joe Flacco (+800)

Look at that list! There are a lot of interesting names there – including a certain GOAT who might still have the itch to play (he is, after all, the GOAT). But the boring pick is the right pick, no matter how wonderfully chaotic it would be to see the Jets sign Andrew Luck.

It makes the most sense for the Jets to once again lean on Flacco, who told ESPN last week that he still feels like he can play at age 38. Flacco made four starts in green and white last season and has the familiarity with the playbook and coaching staff that you want in a QB.

The rest of this Jets team is competitive enough to at least compete for a division title – and that shocking Week 1 win over Buffalo is proof enough of that. And there's no guarantee that Flacco would start; if he did, it would be because he was a better option than Wilson (which is entirely possible given what transpired last season).

The Jets can still go far even with a game manager under center; Flacco gives them one of the best, and it likely wouldn't cost them much at all to add him.
