The Minnesota Timberwolves host the Dallas Mavericks tonight for Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals, as we're featuring our best Mavericks vs. Timberwolves player props based on the best NBA odds.

The last time the Minnesota Timberwolves reached the Western Conference Finals, Anthony Edwards was two years old. The 22-year-old will lead his team tonight in Game 1 against the Dallas Mavericks, with tipoff set for 8:30 p.m. ET on TNT / truTV from Target Center in Minneapolis.

The Timberwolves are 4-point favorites to beat the Mavericks and own the second-shortest NBA championship odds of the remaining four teams. They'll need a big series-opening performance from their top scorer, as our NBA expert Rob Paul broke down in his Anthony Edwards odds & player props.

He isn't the only star scorer on the court, though, as Mavericks guards Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are among the top contenders in the NBA Finals MVP odds. They'll face a tough test tonight against the top-ranked defense in the NBA. We broke down that matchup further with our Luka Doncic odds & player props for Game 1.

Along with our Mavericks vs. Timberwolves parlay, here are our best Mavericks vs. Timberwolves player props and NBA picks for Game 1 (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Mavericks vs. Timberwolves prop bet predictions for today

Anthony Edwards Under 6.5 first-quarter points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The first quarter of any playoff game - especially Game 1 - often serves as a "feeling out process" for both teams. I'd expect that from Edwards after he struggled to find his shot in Game 7 of that second-round win over the Denver Nuggets.

The Timberwolves' star scorer hasn't been nearly as aggressive in the first quarter of this postseason as he is later in games. He's fallen below this mark in six of 11 games, including four of the last six, and he scored just two points on 1-of-5 shooting in his last opening period.

These +114 odds from DraftKings imply a 46.7% chance that he'll fall short of this total once again, per our odds converter, and pay out $21.40 on a $10 wager if he does.

Kyrie Irving Under 20.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

For as prolific as Edwards has been on the offensive end, he's arguably just as effective as a perimeter defender. And he's already set his sights on Irving.

We saw what the combination of Edwards and Jaden McDaniels did against Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, who was held below 20 points in five of seven games in the second round after averaging 23.6 points in Round 1. Injuries didn't help Murray's cause, but the bigger issue was the size and relentless trapping he saw from the NBA's top-ranked defense.

Irving averaged just 15.7 points in Round 2 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, and he topped this total just twice in six games. I love these even odds from BetRivers, which pay out $20 for every $10 wager thanks to a 50% implied probability.

Karl-Anthony Towns Over 32.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐

While Edwards has staked his claim as the Timberwolves' most valuable player, his fellow No. 1 pick has been a crucial X-factor down low for the new West favorites. And this feels like a spot for him to shine in the series opener.

Towns scored 23 points in two of his final three games vs. Denver, and the sweet-shooting 7-footer presents matchup concerns against a traditional Mavericks frontcourt that prefers to stay in the paint. He's also grabbed 12-plus rebounds in four of his last six games while averaging 9.3 per game in the postseason.

At these -105 odds, KAT has an implied probability of 51.22% to cash this wager with a $9.52 profit on a $10 bet.
