Jefferson snapped a six-game drought with zero touchdowns with a two-touchdown performance last week against the Atlanta Falcons. 

This is a three-star play, as Jefferson’s quarterback, Sam Darnold, has an active franchise record with multiple touchdown passes and zero interceptions in four consecutive games.

Justin Jefferson Over 81.5 receiving yards ⭐⭐⭐

Over his last six games, Jefferson’s 524 receiving yards rank third among all wide receivers. That is impressive considering he mixed in a 27-yard clunker against the Bears in that span. 

In that Week 12 meeting, teammates Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson set career-highs in receiving yards with 162 and 114 yards, respectively. 

Conventional wisdom would say that the success from those two would take away defensive attention from Jefferson, and Darnold may force the ball more to his No. 1 wide receiver to make up for that first poor performance.

Since Week 9, Addison ranks in the top 15 of 56 qualified wide receivers in yards per route run. And while that would figure to eat into Jefferson’s yardage total, I am banking on that meaning more positive things for him.

Justin Jefferson longest reception Over 26.5 yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

On passes at least 10 yards downfield, Darnold ranks first with 81 first downs, is tied for first with 12 passing touchdowns (including a league-high four such passes last week), is second in yards per attempt (13.9) and is fourth in completion percentage (59%). 

Darnold also went 5-for-5 for a season-high 112 yards on passes outside the pocket last week. He has connected with Jefferson on at least one pass of 27 yards in back-to-back games and 10 of 13 games this season.

This is a four-star play, as since Week 4, Chicago has used single-high safety coverage 64% of the time. As opposed to teams who play two-high safeties, this should make it easier for Darnold to connect with Jefferson on at least one deep shot.
