The Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets match up in the first of four NFL preseason Week 3 games on Friday night, and we break it down with our Eagles vs. Jets prediction.

New York is a 1.5-point home favorite across our top sports betting sites, and we factor that in when making our best ATS and O/U wagers as part of our NFL preseason Week 3 predictions.

Both of these teams are coming off Week 2 losses after winning their preseason openers. But I am giving the Jets more of a pass for last week’s performance despite their 19-point loss, as it came against a New York Giants team that has arguably the deepest stable of quarterbacks to trot out in the preseason.

Philadelphia has to be concerned with the health of its offensive line after guard Landon Dickerson suffered a meniscus injury. Dickerson is one of five guards to make the Pro Bowl every year since 2022, and the Eagles already lost Mekhi Becton in free agency while Kenyon Green nurses a shoulder injury.

With its offensive line currently in shambles, Philadelphia is not going to risk injuries to Jalen Hurts or Saquon Barkley. And with it needing healthy bodies for the season opener in just two weeks, I do not expect it to play much of anyone who has a chance to fill in for its current injured starters.

Overs are on an insane run in this preseason, at one point cashing in 16 of 18 games, and are now 23-9 overall heading into this week.

But I am still opposing this trend in large part because of how pathetic and uninterested the Eagles' offense looked last week. Philadelphia managed just eight first downs and 88 total yards against the Cleveland Browns, and its 1.7 yards per carry was a direct product of offensive line injuries.

Meanwhile, I expect New York to heavily rely on its ground game. The Jets had success running the football on their scoring drive when their starters were in the game, calling for runs on nine of the 12 plays from scrimmage. In all, the Jets called 33 runs against 37 passes, which is telling even though they trailed by 18 points entering the fourth quarter.

While all the best NFL betting sites are in unison with an O/U of 34.5, several others besides BetMGM have the Under juiced to -115, carrying a 53.49% implied probability.
