The New Orleans Saints host the Denver Broncos as both teams play their final tune-up game before the regular season, and I am breaking it down with my Broncos vs. Saints prediction. The Broncos are 3.5-point road favorites at the best sports betting sites, with the action beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. ET (NFL+) at Caesars Superdome (New Orleans).
Preseason doesn’t mean a whole lot, but the Broncos have looked unbelievably impressive throughout. They’ve yet to give up more than nine points in a game, winning each of their contests by at least 20. Do I think the Saints can pull off the upset as part of our NFL preseason Week 3 predictions?

The Broncos’ preseason dominance is greatly impacting my Broncos vs. Saints prediction. The defense has been stellar, allowing just 16 points in two games, as both starters and backups have dominated the opposition. This week, they get to take on an inexperienced group led by New Orleans' Spencer Rattler.
Then there is the offense. Bo Nix will play a few snaps on Saturday, but the Broncos don’t need him to cover this spread against the Saints. Jarrett Stidham has been excellent this preseason, completing 78.9% of his passes for 376 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
The Saints' defense has struggled during the preseason, despite predominantly facing backups in both of their games. It’s preseason, so the Broncos could come out uninspired, but they’ve been such a machine through two games that even if they play slightly worse than they did in their first two games, they should have no trouble with the lowly Saints.

The Broncos have put up at least 27 points in each of their first two preseason games, and against a team that has allowed 44 in two preseason games, there’s no reason to think they won’t have similar success on Saturday. However, the Broncos’ defense has been equally impressive, and even with many starters expected to play for the Saints, the unit is too inexperienced to break through against this defense.
The Saints have scored at least 13 in each of their preseason games, and with Rattler under center, they will have their expected starting quarterback on the field. But Rattler has been inconsistent this preseason, and against the best defense he’s faced, he’ll have his work cut out for him.
Maybe the Saints score two touchdowns for the first time this preseason, but that is a big maybe. Plus, even if they do, the pressure is then on the Broncos to score just as much as they have been. With how both teams have played, it’s simply more likely this game is played in the mid-30s than the low-40s.
