NBA Best Bets Today: Schedule, Picks for Tuesday

The San Antonio Spurs and Victory Wembanyama visit the Phoenix Suns and Kevin Durant in a marquee NBA matchup for Tuesday, and we're providing our best NBA bets for Tuesday based on the top NBA odds.

We were a DeMar DeRozan bucket away from sweeping the board on Monday, as DeRozan finished with 20 points, and we had placed a bet on the Over 21.5 points. Although we took the loss on DeRozan, the best assist man in the NBA, Tyrese Haliburton, came through with Over 9.5 assists.

On Tuesday, we have a small slate of games, and several of these teams are on the front end of a back-to-back, so we will tread lightly here.

Tuesday’s NBA player prop picks

Wendell Carter Jr. Over 1.5 assists vs. Clippers (+120 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

You know what happens when you begin the NBA season with exactly one assist in three straight games: you eventually get offered at a price much better than you should, and that's what's happening with Carter on Tuesday.

Carter is a significant part of what the Magic do on offense, and although he hasn't had a massive game yet this season, that doesn't mean he won't be a big part of their game plan on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Clippers. Carter is a 3-point threat that the Magic can use to pull Ivica Zubac away from the basket and open up driving lanes.

I expect Carter to get a ton of touches on offense against the Clippers, which will also open up his ability to get some assists. Carter is projected to have exactly 2 assists against the Clippers, which means we can price the Over 1.5 assists at -130, but it is being offered at FanDuel at +120.

This bet is showing a positive expected value of 21%, but you will want to do your shopping at FanDuel to maximize that edge. The Over on Carter's assists prop is trading at -119 on Caesars, which is a drastically different price point than the +120 we are seeing from FanDuel.

Grayson Allen Over 2.5 assists vs. Spurs (+110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

Bradley Beal has again been ruled out for the Phoenix Suns, and Devin Booker is doubtful for Tuesday's game. This means we will see Eric Gordon and Grayson Allen on the ball a lot more for the Suns when they face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.

When playing against the Spurs, there will be an emphasis on having shooters in the corner so they can pull Wembanyama out to the three-point line, preventing him from hovering near the paint for help defense. Allen is the perfect player for this matchup as he can shoot the three and is also someone who will look to drive and kick when attacking the lane against Wembanyama.

Allen also did an excellent job of pushing the ball up the floor against the Utah Jazz, leading to easy transition baskets for the Suns. If he continues to run against the Spurs, who aren't the fastest team in transition with Wembanyama and Zach Collins, Allen could easily secure some assists on Tuesday.

Allen is projected to have 2.8 assists against the Spurs, just shy of the three assists needed to earn a green checkmark on this prop. However, the key here is the juice. We can price Allen at -106 to go Over the total with this projection, yet it is available at bet365 at +110.
