Atlantic Division rivals clash for a heavyweight bout in Boston, and our 76ers vs. Celtics NBA player props are based on the best NBA odds at our best sports betting apps.

The Philadelphia 76ers began the season on an impressive note, boasting a 7-1 record that showcased their potential. However, their momentum waned as they struggled to maintain their early form, recording a 5-5 record in the subsequent games. This shift signifies a deviation from their initial success, indicating some challenges or inconsistencies that the team may be encountering as they navigate through the season.

The Boston Celtics, on the other hand, are 8-2 across their last 10 and own the top spot in the Eastern Conference.

These Atlantic Division rivals have already faced off twice this season, and the series is tied at one game apiece. Both games were played in Philly, and the Sixers will look for a rare road win at TD Garden.

Philadelphia is just 1-3 across its last four in Boston over the last two seasons. Joel Embiid sat Wednesday due to an illness, and he’s questionable for Friday's game, while Kristaps Porzingis remains sidelined due to a calf injury.

Here are our best 76ers vs. Celtics NBA player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

76ers vs. Celtics NBA player props

Joel Embiid Under 30.5 points (-105 via DraftKings) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Embiid leads the league in scoring at 32 points per contest. He’s scored at least 31 points in four of his last five and 10 of 16 games on the season. So, why are we betting on him scoring less than 31 points on Friday?

Embiid has had some monster games against the Celtics, but the division rivals typically play him tough, especially when Al Horford is on the floor. The crafty veteran has a knack for bothering Embiid on defense, and in 16 games against Horford, Embiid has averaged 25.9 points. He’s scored 30 points in just four of those games.

Over the last three seasons, Embiid has faced Boston 10 times and averaged 29.2 points. He’s scored at least 30 points just three times. The Celtics allow the third-fewest points per game to opponents this season at 106.7, and they allow even fewer points at home (103.8).

The Sixers’ offense scores just 116.5 points on the road compared to 123.1 at home this season. With Embiid likely still recovering from the illness that sidelined him Wednesday, he’ll have a difficult time scoring at his typically elite level against a team that has given him trouble in recent seasons.

Al Horford Under 21.5 points + rebounds + assists (+100 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Horford has been lights-out over his last two games, averaging 11 points, 12 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. He’s started each of those games in place of the injured Kristaps Porzingis, who's out again Friday. So, this is a smash spot for Horford to go Over this prop, right? Not so fast.

Just like Horford has played Embiid tough over the years, the latter hasn’t exactly taken it easy on the Celtics big man, either. In the 16 games they’ve faced each other, Horford has averaged just 11.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists, eclipsing this total seven times. Over his last three seasons against the Sixers, Horford has averaged 17.4 points + rebounds + assists and gone Over this number twice.

The Sixers allow the fourth-fewest rebounds to opponents, which has been Horford’s biggest statistical contribution over his last two games. Philly can limit the big man on the boards, and though he may be effective as a defender and floor-spacer, he’ll have a tough time hitting a line that’s overinflated due to a couple of big games.

Jayson Tatum Under 28.5 points (-120 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

Another Under? You bet.

Jayson Tatum set the Celtics’ single-season record for points per game in 2022-23, averaging 30.1. He’s taking fewer shots this season and, despite improved efficiency, his scoring average is down to 27.7.

Tatum has scored at least 29 points in half of his 18 games this season, but six of those nine performances came on the road. He’s averaging 26.9 points per game at TD Garden compared to 28.4 on the road.

Over his last 10 against Philly, he’s averaged just 22 points per contest and scored at least 29 points only twice.

The Celtics are -5.5 in this one, and the Over/Under is set at 224.5. This could be a low-scoring, comfortable win by Boston, which means less of an offensive workload for Tatum. We’ll take the Under.
