Our Masters Round 2 odds and picks are based on the odds from our best golf betting sites. The first round of the 2024 Masters was delayed, but Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler both went bogey-free to set the tone at Augusta National.

Thanks to some inclement weather delaying the beginning of the 88th edition of the Masters on Thursday, Round 1 spilled over into early Friday morning at Augusta National.

Bryson DeChambeau led after Round 1, though Max Homa took the lead with a strong start to his second round.

Our best sports betting sites have updated various betting markets for Round 2, with Scheffler solidifying his position as the favorite over DeChambeau.

With plenty of golf left to play and improving weather conditions, expect the Masters leaderboard to keep shifting as we head into the weekend.

Now's a prime moment to consider golfers in the outright betting market, as some may now offer better odds following their opening rounds. Be sure to keep an eye on the Masters projected cut line through the day.

Here are the live Masters Round 2 odds and our top picks for Friday based on the Masters odds from our best sports betting sites (confidence rating based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Masters Round 2 picks

Joaquin Niemann to win (+3300 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Niemann’s double bogey on the fifth hole looked like it could derail his momentum. Instead, the Chilean golfer went 2-under par on the back nine, finishing his opening round with five birdies and knocking down flagsticks with relative ease.

Niemann’s departure to LIV Golf may have kept his name from being a top commodity in the lead-up to Thursday’s first round. However, he’s quickly proving that his ball-striking ability will keep him in contention at Augusta National. Niemann was +2800 in the outright winner market before the tournament. We’re now landing slightly better odds at FanDuel despite his strong finish on Thursday.

He’s never logged a top 10 finish at the Masters, but Niemann is coming off of a career-best 16th finish at the 2023 Masters, plus his team is first in total points on LIV. Niemann ranks fourth for greens in regulation, 10th in putting average, and third in birdie average, so a 0.25 -nit wager is warranted at +3300 odds. A $10 bet would return a profit of $330.

Will Zalatoris to win (+4000 via Caesars) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We’ve seen Zalatoris succeed at Augusta National in 2021 and 2022, finishing second and sixth, respectively, on the leaderboard. Zalatoris is +4000 in the outright betting market after his first round, dropping substantially following bogey-bogey on his final two holes on Thursday.

This is a five-star play because of Zalatoris’ pure ball-striking prowess. His putter leaves a bit to be desired, however, ranking eighth in strokes gained: approach and 21st in SG: tee-to-green means the Californian can hunt flagsticks with precision. Augusta National’s undulations are the biggest hurdle to overcome, but Zalatoris is clearly comfortable navigating the rigors of the course with his irons.

Course history plays a big part with Zalatoris as an outright winner at +4000 odds heading into Round 2. He’s due to end his two-year win drought, which came against a loaded field during the FedEx St. Jude Championship. If not for Hideki Matsuyama’s unconscious back nine at the Genesis Invitational earlier this season, Zalatoris likely would’ve already been an outright winner in 2024.

We’re staking another 0.25-unit wager on Zalatoris’ 40-1 odds available at Caesars.

How to bet on golf

Betting on golf involves understanding the various types of bets available and how to assess player performance. First, familiarize yourself with the different types of bets commonly offered in golf, including outright winner bets, each-way bets (which cover both a win and a top finish), head-to-head matchups between two players, and proposition bets on specific events within a tournament, such as hole-in-one occurrences or individual player performances on certain holes.

Once you've identified the types of bets you're interested in, research the players, course conditions, recent form, and other relevant factors that could influence outcomes. Pay attention to factors like player statistics, recent tournament performances, course history, and any injuries or changes in form that may affect a player's performance.
